I have read it a lot of times. Anyone knows the (cultural) reason behind it? I suppose is similar to "call me boss".

Grandfathers are usually the head of the family and the person you look up to. As they usually have all the knowledge and power. So calling me your grandfather is like saying you need to respect me because I am more powerful and more knowledgable than you BITCH!!!!

In most Asian cultures you give respect those who are older than you. So when you say 'call me grandfather' or 'I'm your grandfather' its a derogatory expression. When one says that its like "your are my junior and you would be below me whoever you may be".

Yeap. Basically, a demand of respect equal to that due to senior most member of the clan, family, or organisation.

The grandfather is usually the head of a family and there is a phrase the "family business" . it usually means that the family is working in a single field or a single company

Of course this isn't just in terms of corporations. This could also apply to family Land, schools of martial arts, criminal organizations like the yakuza or even religious practice such as shrine priests or priestesses

Edit. Basically it means you gotta respect him because he is older, wiser, smarter, stronger, and more experienced than you

Easterners like Koreans, Japanese, and especially Chinese have this concept of "face". It's like your street cred, or reputation and when people try to smear it by disrespecting others then shit gets wild and they try to dis the other one back to save "face".

These cultures also greatly respect hierarchy in families and respect for one's elders. That's why when someone says call me granddaddy or Grandpa or great aunt, they are saying to respect me cause I'm on a higher level than you, b*tch. Which goes back to the concept of "face" and people going bat shit (guano) crazy.

seniority is pretty important in eastern asia.
a grandfather (or older people in general) are personages of wisdom, warranting respect from the younger generations.

there is also a story in china of an old man bullying a younun', throwing his stuff away. the young one stays respectful and thus gets taught by that old guy. That is supposed to be good...

edit: i tried finding this story and ended up with this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shoe-throwing_incidents

It's the next level of "I'm gonna spank you so hard, you'll call me Daddy" for when calling you daddy, or crying uncle just isn't enough to satisfy your superiority.

When you beat someone with little effort at actually hurting them, it's a spanking, it just sounds gay when you hear it out of context.

Just a way of saying "I'm your daddy" or "Who's your daddy?!?

Who's your daddy? is a slang expression that, in one use, takes the form of a rhetorical question. It is commonly used as a boastful claim of dominance over the intended listener. It is also sometimes used as a derogatory claim of sexual dominance of a man over a woman or another man. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who's_your_daddy?_(phrase)
