Demi-gods and semi devils - There are three separate protagonists, each with their own storyline, underlying goal, and supporting characters. The concurrent storylines blend together under a extremely well described historical backdrop of the Song dynasty. The storyline compares the themes of buddhist parables to the myriad joys and sorrows of life. There are so many branching plotlines and the side characters all come alive.

One of the protagonists, Qiao Feng and his story stands out the most to me. He is unrelenting in his pursuit for revenge, losing everything he holds dear in the process one by one. Would he do the same again if he was given the chance?

    1. The first order - Would say this is a masterpiece
    2. The King's Avatar - People think the plot is too slow but I like this since there's no "system" BS and plot is a lot more reasonable (power scaling too)
    3. Night's nomenclature
    4. ORV
    5. Dungeon Defense
    6. World's Best Martial Artist / Global Martial Arts
    7. Lord of the Mysteries
    8. The Legendary Mechanic
    9. TCF

    Honourable mentions:
SCOG - Would be among the top nine but I hate harems
Spare Me Great Lord - Pretty funny but the plot development feels a bit off to be in the top nine
Cultivation Chat Group - Same reason as Spare Me Great Lord
Second Life Ranker - Above average but not the top
Stargate - New novel but everything is looking good, but too few chapters to be ranked
Soul Land - Way too long story

Great choices. I don't think that Huang Yi is a particularly good writer but I agree with most of the rest. I'd say that "the Deer and the Cauldron" is Jin Yong's best book - there was even a movement a while back to nominate this book for a Nobel prize.

    2. Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere (The true LONG novel. Top-notch in everything)
    3. Omniscient Reader Viewpoint (god, the META!)
    4. The Girl who Ate a Death God (What do you want me to say that anyone else haven't said yet? Go read it. It's just thirty-something chapters)
    5. The Man Picked Up By the Gods (The King of Slice-of-life)
    6. 86/Eighty-Six (Amazing anime adaption, it's beyond my expectation)
    7. Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka? (The only novel I can't complete, my heart is crushed)
    8. Worm (Peak of super-heroes story, in my opinion)
    9. Mother of Learning (Years of waiting and the author delivered a satisfying ending, what more could I want?)

    Honorary mentions:
Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? (Amazing)
There Was No Secret Organization to Fight with the World’s Darkness so I Made One (Super... good!)

Apotheosis of a Demon – A Monster Evolution Story
Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter
(The first Vilainness story I ever read, and it's still the best)
The Novel's Extra (When they were still in the Cube, or maybe before the Tower)
Hokuou Kizoku to Moukinzuma no Yukiguni Karigurashi (Great romance story set in the North/South Pole)
The Undead King of the Palace of Darkness (A solid story)
