Question What are some cliches or things that Arthur's do in their books that you dislike?

I am asking this question out of self-interest. to see if the things I hate is a common thing people hate or is it just me.

 

I kind of hate the reincarnation genre because usually their past lives has no effect on their new life and the only reason this happens is because the author is just on The Reincarnation boat.

 

'That arthurs do' did you mean authors? Because typos are something that I hate since they should have editors if they being published.

 

Pacifist MCs should just kill themselves

 

Not really cliche, but I hate when authors use the Stockholm syndrome to give the novel a bit of "romance".

 

The main character being OP for the sake of being OP. Also too pacifist MCs are also really annoying too

 

yeah man I hate if Reincarnation was a real thing and it never effects us

 

Making an OP MC just to nerf him few chapter later....

 

The thing that annoys me the most, is when the author uses the "back when (he/she) was doing something or other, they also (did/came up with/discovered).....". In other words the author was to lazy or lacked the imagination to intelligently introduce something into the story that they suddenly thought would be cool or solve the MC's current problem.

 

I cant stand when you can tell that an author doesn't plan out the story, like excessive use of plot armor and filler make me want to kick a baby panda.

 

Pulling sword out of stones.

 

When author is claiming that mc is smart while in reality he is stupid as hell. Also, extremly beta mc, even after 100 chapters (no character progression). Also when mc i provoking people left and right for no reason, and he is fine anyway becouse of plot armor

 

Can't forget retrieving holy grails and such.

Meeting a girl and and entire ARC is dedicated to her problems and other things creating unnecessary drama and wasting our time

 

This, and also characters that get no progression at all!

 

What I dislike is when the author goes out of their way to explain something knowing full well their explanation is stupid. Some of the things I wouldn't even notice the flaw at first glance until the author sticks it into your face to remind you how stupid it is.

Ridiculous harems.

Eh? It depends, even if their past lives has no impact on current life, it still can have an influence on the character from perspective to moral compass.

 

when the mc trains 24/7 and keep saying it's all so he can have a happy life and protect the ones he love. then when he beat the last bad guy we get the happily ever after paragraph. also when mc talk about justice and peace but ask or wish to go to a world with killing.

 

Oh and getting NTR'd by Lancelot.

 

Malapropisms. Especially when the author is just trying to use a longer/less common word to sound smarter. It's so frustrating. It's honestly the main reason why I put Metaworld Chonicles on hold. I could handle the other (and honestly more serious) issues. But the malapropisms were painful.
