Discussion What are your favorite cultivation techniques/powers?

Could you describe how they worked and what about them you liked so much and even give examples of creative uses.

For instance, one that i remember was a cauldron that let you swap places with people. Sounds basic but the main character used it in a large-scale war to bait out enemy attacks and then switch with others to make them take the spell.

Story of every CN novel? Authors come up with interesting content starters, from then its just word fill spam.

 

Anything with mind control properties, from simple stuff like rule-based restriction system to straight out commanding people kind of mind control.
- The MC in Heavenly Jewel Change is one that has the former and I wish he uses it more.
- For the latter, Code Geass is like the epitome of it being used to greatness (although it's not cultivation).

Also as bad as BTFTLIAW is as a story, the power the MC has is basically too OP and something I'll like to have. It's basically Satou from Death March level of OP.

 

Idk if it's a "cultivation ability," but i want White's luck.

lots of the abilities in Silent Crown. the whole music and instrument power system was neat and the ideas of different pieces giving different effects and also music always accompanying battles were cool.

 

Though many would disagree with me, but I personally like Abyss Builder's Possession from Pursuit of the Truth. Why? Because it had opened a new way of fighting while building story and fit the theme of the story very well.

 

One of the few stories that soundtracks influenced the battle itself. Both figuratively and literally.

I like the power of making plants grow faster, it's great for anyone that wishes to cultivate a farm and then sell the harvest for better profits~

 

I don't know if it counted as a power/technique so much as a magical tool, but I loved Meng Hao's Copper Mirror. It's special ability hit a nice balance between wish fulfillment without being pointlessly OP due to its limitations. Plus the way it causes so much butthurt is great! And we can't forget everyone's favorite megalomaniac bully, Lord Fith! It's great how versatile it became as a plot point and not some lame item that gets mentioned two times in 10 chapters then we never heard from it again.

 

I think an eye technique is everybody's ultimate Chuuni dream.
