Hi. We hear about them all the time, read abou them, but what do Demon / Monster Cores actually look like? The descriptions are never really explicit enough, and funnily enough, there is no art out there of them that I can find. Any ideas?
they are depicted in various forms from small diamond shaped cristals as big as regular dice or smaller, to fist sized crystal balls for human sized variants
I've always been picturing them as colorful spheres of varying sizes. Anyways here is a real demon core, lol. Spoiler
Oh yikes, that's certainly a demon core. Can't remember how many of the scientists that thing killed. On another note, demon cores aren't standard, and each story has it's own idea of what they are.
In its initial stage it's called spiritual roots, an organ found right below your navel. It's shaped as a ball made of muscle tissues, it has branching tubes connecting with the body's meridian network. When one starts to form a dantian the qi that gathers from the meridian pores on the skin's surface gets channeled through the meridians to the roots. When enough qi is gathered the roots gets crystallized that is what you call demon core or ji Dan. The process of crystallization is a slow progress, it starts of right at the middle point where you converge your qi, it's totally dependent on your technique. When the tissues are subjected to long term of exposure to qi, the cells starts to assimilate themselves to it. This is usually accelerated with constant wear and tear of the muscle tissues through vigorous training exercises, which leads to the cells interacting more with the qi around it to heal back the torn tissues. A good technique is one that lets the practitioner specifically choose the type of qi the tissues absorb. While its rather expensive but it is the optimum path. The difference with or without it is significant. Find out why in the next episode...
That depends. If you're talking about real life, there's no such thing, except for the nuclear core thing. If you're talking about wushia, it's usually in the form of a flower, herb or crystal that you can shave down into powder. If you're talking about shianshia, it's usually a magical thing that crystalizes after you kill the monster. If you're talking about Japanese fantasy, they're usually something crystaline, such as a pearl or a magatama. Magatama actually exists, dragon pearls however, well, nobody has seen a real one in recent history.
Lol. Thanks. That's quite more informative. Just looking for descriptions that are common in novels that maybe I have not read that shine a more detailed light on a description of them.
