Discussion What do you dislike the most in Xianxia? (Excluding Harem)

Hello everyone, I'm here with a discussion regarding dislike/hate in Xianxia but please, leave out Harem, i see this so much that im sick of it,

Spoiler: sort of a rant

and what i mean by that is, seeing people moan and bitch about how much they hate harem and drop series because it has a harem; or they dont even touch series because it has harem; and what i think the moment i see it is; alright already i get you dislike harems, like many others but what you cant do, is change anything about it.

Now onto the main subject. What do you dislike or hate that is about xianxia or happens in xianxia? Also it would be nice if you tried to condense the list to top 3!!

for me it is;
1. Tournaments - they happen too much and usually end with, the mc winning but the loser being sore about it... or mc winning each and everyone of them - btw SOTR has too many of them...
2. Reincarnations - seriously whats the point of them? stories that dont start with a reincarnation are much better because we dont have to question the reason of the reincarnation itself...
3. A certain line of speech from enemies - "junior you DARE?!"

 

Random string of dumb villians attacking for a minor reason only to get their entire clan killed

 

I like reincarnation as long as it is done well and brings in plot elements for example DE he got the soul visualisation technique.

 

World Building Arc where the story isnt about MC rasing an Empire~
he left after ditch the job to suitable people

Info Dump - though it is crucial but we cant help to hate when it take whole chap for explanation

 

1. How it is basically a repeat of the mc getting humiliated training and revenge
2. How all the "villains" keep saying similar lines
3. How the mc does not notice that the childhood friend likes him until they get separated due to a difference of talent

 

"Threw his head back and roared."

"Clicked his tongue."

"Jade like skin and fairy like toes."

Reincarnation/transmigration. Why can't the MC just be ultra talented? Establishing him as some ancient asshole at the beginning of the story remove any pretense of character development.

 

Monotony.

Xianxia has a lot of common repetitive tropes. I try not to notice them too much and just enjoy the story but sometimes they are just over used.

 

1. I dislike when the person the MC defeats just happens to have an older brother. And when that brother is defeated there's another brother who's more powerful.
2. The discipline people are pricks and they're backed by an elder who's also a prick. Which means no one can do anything to them

 

I'm also like that,

 

People outsmarting eachother. Or acting dumb.

Especially in the later arcs of xianxias where everyone is old as fuck
I mean to survive up to that point you should be pretty smart and people only get wiser with age. Even if you are not good at schemes living that long should give you experiences with them.
So any character acting dumb or underestimating anyone should not happen anymore when the story leaves the begining phases.

 

I hate when every single villian wants to rape the mc women.

 

Totally agree on this, like is the mc the only one allowed to look young? Because all of the old enemies should look young as they are as stupid as f...

I also highly dislike some battle in xianxias whenever they ignate their blood essence or something like that to escape and use a huge ammount of treasure to defend when they lose

I also dislike about half battle in xianxias , where they use movments techniques , mystical technique , dao and other mystical fuck to only result in two guy in the end headbuting each other (like the MC take by surprise the young master by using a mirage technique or something , he's also using the garuda technique to godlike level he only left an afterimage , he's on the back of the young master and attack his neck with two sword finger , -normally the young master is dead , but not in xianxia- the young master defend and block with his palm, piercing it ...)
Their awareness is so godlike in battle that it's weird , a so fast paced battlr should end fast and not kamehameha VS bad guy kamehameha even when the MC is normally suposed to instakill

A dislike uselessly long battle in the end I think , so when there is a battle that with one punch the ennemy explode in a blood mist I'm fucking happy

 

The repetition not all of them, but quit a few have a lot of repetition in the Novel. it can get tiring after a while

 

Especially repetitive tournaments in every new frickin arc...

 

Like almost every xianxia is dull and about the same. Though there are some exceptions.

 

they use all those fancy skils but in the end it still who has the hardest fist wins

 

1.Useless love interests
2.Antagonists with plot armor bigger than the mc
3.Forced and predictable plots (ATG and WDQK have tons of them)
