I know this is a pretty weird question, but seriously, what do you think Pokémon would call their parents? After all, I don't think that they would call their parents 'mum' or 'dad' since these terms are rather 'human'. Would they call their parents things like 'egg-bearer' or something?
What do you think they call their parents?
Hypothetically speaking that they can talk to each other with a universally understood language amongst pokemon... Or something

Pikachu calls it's parents pikachu because it's the only word it knows.
Pokémon only need to learn one word(their own name) to learn to speak an entire language which is kinda absurd.

Do Pokemon have the concept of parents? Isn't it the act of imprinting when they exit the egg, but then when people trade Pokemon that would be sad ;-; like a parent abandoning the child

It might be strange but if you hear a Pikachu say
    "Pika Pika Pikachuuuuuu"
is it a kind a Morse code??? they could be telling us things?? so next time you watch Pokémon, listen to the real message underneath!!!!!

so far this is all I can work out:

Pika Pikachu or Pika-Pika Pikachu: My name is Pikachu. When Ash and his friends are introducing themselves to others, he says this.
    • Pikapi: Satoshi (Ash)

    • Pikachu-Pi: Kasumi (Misty)

    • Pika-Chu: Takeshi (Brock)

    • Pikaka: Hikari (Dawn)

    • Pi?: Used when addressing something unknown. Can mean, "What?"

    • PiPiPi: Togepi

    • PikakaPika: Bulbasaur

    • PikaPika: Squirtle or Staraptor or Infernape

    • Pi-kachu: Piplup

    • PiPi-kachu: Team Rocket

    • Pi-Pikachu: Gotta Catch em all! He says this after Ash wins a badge, catches a new Pokémon or anything similar.

    • Pi-ka: Yes

    • Pi-ka-chu?: Are you alright? When a character or Pokémon is injured, Pikachu says this.

I don't think they have a word for 'Mom' and 'Dad'. Like animals its basically your scent is the closest to or similar mine and therefore we're kin. Once they grow up, they'll be left independently in the wild depending on the species.

It's hard not to impose human familial behaviour on other species...
