Unfortunately, it's an issue that's still being caused by religions all over the world.

 

All religions cause child abuse? That's big overstatement. I won't deny religion does have people who aren't right the mind. But to blame all religions causing child abuse is kind of a leap in logic. I think this is an issue of bad parenting and radical behavior by said screw-heads who are parents. Religion is just an excuse for them to beat up their kids. Its the same with the law. Some use the law as an excuse for hurting others. People are the problem and not religion. I think a better thread would be what would the world be like without religion prospering. Religion in any form: churches and their denominations, cults, and sects. But this is not allowed in the forum.

I will tell you this. Religion just happens to be the framework most people live and die by. Humans require a framework to act in a certain direction. Same can be said with science. Science has continue to become the modern framework of the human world. Humans need walls. They want it. A wall to protect their backs in their times of need. Ironically these very walls can also trapped them. Bind them and bound them in their place forever. It could be their home or their prison. A wall someone must climb or break through to see beyond their safety zone. The boundless world is infinite in possibilities as is our desires. No need to go narrow it down due to fear. Humans are brave fools. Look at them go. Look at them inspire themselves to challenge the world. Challenge the gods. Let us ascend together and become gods of the new world. A world only for us. A battle between the old gods and the new gods. Surely it will be the day of days. Doomsday! Dies irae! Ragnarok! Last Judgment! Hark, the angels (good and bad) sing!

Your people is not the same as religions. You could have specified the amount of religions in the world. For John's case, he definitely met different types of persons all around the world. The exact number is impossible for me to know unless stated otherwise. In your case, you said religions all over the world. You can't expect me to interpret that as some than all.

 

I think that raping is not about sexual enjoyment, it's about power and control.

 

So you're saying rapists get aroused from their authority in the situation and carnal pleasure is just a bonus? That's weirder than raping people. How low must someone's self-esteem and big their complex must be to literally get aroused from dominating over a person.

This is a tricky question. Definitely not right in their mind... but what exactly is right suppose to be in their worldview? Now you got me thinking about how the criminal mind works. I feel like I'm slowly entering a Hannibal episode in real life. To understand a criminal... one either has to be a cold calculative person or one who can easily empathize with criminal mindset.

I have learned that it is unnatural for humans to believe they can be fully good or bad. It's unrealistic and encourages our worst behaviours. >_> Ask @Zheya, he's heard about this from me before.

 

I do. I am one who can empathize with the righteous and self righteous. It's hard for me to completely shut down another's perspective in the matter, even when said perspective is disgusting and enough to erode one's mind. As the saying goes, keeping walking on that shoreline, you'll find yourself wet soon enough.
