tell me of a bookstore that allows you to go into it take books for free or copy it for free or read it right then there everyday all the time and all they ask is for donations. Then I will believe Volare and WW will work out in the long run.

So it's nice that there's now a special icon on the Latest Releases for chapters behind ad walls, but that doesn't help when the ad wall chapter blocks updates for chapters that are no longer behind an ad wall.

Since this is pretty much only Qidian International novels I've got a special sub-list just for that shit. Since chapters behind ad walls have been getting listed in Latest Releases I've been having a shitty time keeping track of which series have chapters behind ad walls and which chapters I've already read.

I thought there was a rule that chapters behind ad walls wouldn't be listed.

It's great that I can see the latest chapter is behind an ad wall, saving me from clicking it; but that doesn't tell me when the chapters before it are no longer behind their ad wall.

 

There have been plenty of novels that have had adwalls in the past, and they don't even take it down after a while like QI does.
The reason why they weren't listed was because of the "appwall".
Now that that is down, it's fine.
People are only creating a storm due to this being QI.

Well for me I've never run into an ad wall in a novel before QI, so that would be why I'm noticing it.

Speaking of, I don't know when this update rolled out (maybe I just happened to open the site as it rolled out) but there's a bunch more QI chapters still behind ads that aren't updated.

First thing I did was do a forum search on Ad Wall, I figured out beforehand what the lock icon meant because I do actually have half a brain and it says it when you mouse over the icon.

 

There is no such rule. What is not listed is appwall and paywall.
You can just not click any chapter with a lock, right?

I mean...... Dude... Those only 8 second of static images ads (at least for my region).......

A wee bit offtopic compared to the exact topics you guys are talking about, but I want to thank whoever it is that is handling site updates. I appreciate the work you put in to make things more convenient for us.

 

No idea why, but if I click on an ad-walled chapter the entire page turns white for a moment and there is no ad to watch xD

 

That's what I'm going to have to do now. Wait a few days between reading batches and mark where the ad wall is.

you can give spirit stone on qidian to get rid of the ad locks instead of just watching through the ad.

 

Libraries do pay authors...Libraries obviously buy the books that they loan out, they don't just magically get them for free...
So while they aren't scouting for writers, they are actively making writers able to write as a means of livelihood. I think if you don't actually know the inner workings of the novel sites you shouldn't comment some stupid shit about what you think they do or don't do financially for the writers and translators that post on them.

I-d say it's because people don't like quidian on principle, so most people use adblock on quidian probably making them gain less money than expected, so their decision was to make unblockable ad.walls.

WW and Volare are seen as paragons, hence readers give the benefit of the doubt and turn adbock off, hence making more than enough money, also patrons for both of them.
