I'm looking for something good to read~ so which novel/novels do you like the most? I would appreciate a short "why". Of course all genres are great.

NU (asian translated novels) or just any work of fiction in general?

I wish visible reading lists were still a thing, so we might end up suggesting ones you've already read.

If you can, please tell us any titles you've read and liked.

    anything is nice
~ and about reading lists... well I'd love to find something amazing that I would never choose if not for the recommendation, so what I usually read doesn't matter at all. Besides I don't mind hearing about things I have already read.

i have a few choices. for paperback and hard-cover, it would be the Harrington series by David Weber.for LN/WN, i'd have to go with Summoned Again? by Bokuboy over on ScribbleHub. 200ch of fun and yes, smut. but that's not what makes this great. 3 summons, gov't screw-overs, revenge, and TEDDY. you'll understand if you give it a read. lol

This is one of the best on this website ever...for now judging by the first 30 chaps. The author not having more followers is a crime.

This too is one of the best on this website ever...it's complete

Some older readers might remember this.

Again, this one is really good.

If you have not heard of this you just don't read a lot of novels online. The best high fantasy with "system" for me. If you enjoy action and high fantasy this is for you. It has 1200+chaps

Newer ones (imho not at the same level as the one above for now):
    https://www.scribblehub.com/series/69701/unfathomable-senior/
I liked it because MC is not psycho and humor is pretty good.
    https://www.scribblehub.com/series/10442/world-keeper/
This is not kingdom building but worldbuilding, not about emperor or king but about godlike being. The concept is interesting for me and the author is improving. It has a lot of chapters.

Translated ones: Cultivation Chatgroup, My house of horrors, I shall seal the heavens, Coiling dragon.

-An honest to goodness intelligent MC.
-Plot lines that break the standard tropes.
    -Plot arcs that change considerably.
-MC that understands when to go all in.

My all time favorite novel is a question I have no answer too. There are simple to many. But I will try to do so.

    Royal Road-

    https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/3972/the-defective-hermit
A nasty piece of shit. Finds out the world about to end. He does the only thing he can think of. He fortified his home. Bad part it was Drop.

    https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/544/master-of-all-jack-of-none
A kid who has some disabilities but find a life in a game. It’s a great underdog novel. Best part it’s completed.

    Novel Updates-

    https://www.novelupdates.com/series/im-the-evil-lord-of-an-intergalactic-empire/
Reincarnated Prince trying to be a Villain, but everyone misunderstood him as a model of good.

    My favorite face slapping novel

    Web Novel -

    https://www.webnovel.com/book/ascension-of-the-elder_15664066705572505
A reincarnated young master building a life for himself. The introduction of our horror flicks as an actual attack is epic.

    https://www.webnovel.com/book/15071779505679105/47309561186542331
One of the best world building novel I ever seen.

    Hardcover-

    Raymond E. Feist for Fantasy
John Ringo for Thrill and Sci Fi
    David Drake for War
    S.M. Stirling for Time Travel

    Kindle-

If you enjoy good action/high-fantasy these are good choices. And side characters are not one dimensional or forgotten.
No problem, I know how difficult it can be to try and find some good novels you like among hundreds out there.

Obligatory Invisible Dragon recommendation as a favorite novel. Here's a small excerpt that summarizes the greatness of Invisible Dragon.

Jokes aside, I have a soft spot for novels with developed characters and interactions and the like.
Genius of a Performing Arts High
    Life, Once Again!
    The Great Storyteller
    Remake our Life!
    God of Cooking
The five mentioned above share quite similar genres and "designs," if you will. It explores mechanics of real-life activities and careers as well as interpersonal relationship struggles and life philosophies. There are a couple of scenes that are very wholesome too, so that's a plus. Chances are if you enjoy one, you'll enjoy the others too. All of the above are linked on NU.

For lots of fluff and wholesomeness, I would recommend the following:
Doomed to be Cannon Fodder - Sorry, all I remember is cactus.
Hokuou Kizoku to Moukinzuma no Yukiguni Karigurashi - Slowly built relationship, a "fresh" kind of world as well.
Observation Record of a Self-proclaimed Villainess’ Fiance - Otome game villainess MC. The MC comes up with "evil" plans and fails them successfully.
I am a Witch Requested by My Crush to Make Love Potion - Main focus is on romantic relationships, detailed descriptions of encounters.
Cinnamon Bun: A Wholesome LitRPG - Cinnamon Bun.
The main couple generally tends to be adorable and there will be scenes that will warm your heart. The MC of all of these tends to be very pure and somewhat naive iirc. The last title is actually not on NU. You can find it on either ScribbleHub or RoyalRoad, but the MC is definitely a cinnamon bun.
