Aye... my ideal MC... there's only a few bad as she MC... and one of them is Accelerator!!!

 

A character that changes throughout the story depending on what's happening. Like an arrogant character changing due to having people he loves killed because of his arrogance.

 

Male: Confident, cautious, realist (not naive), some cunning, good fighting ability, good crafting ability, who likes music, who knows a bit about gaming and novels, some open-mindedness, above average looking

Female: Confident, humble, some cunning, good fighting ability, good planning ability, who likes music, some open-mindedness, A bit of tsun, a bit of kuu, a bit of yan, a good amount of dere, not loli, above average looking, with dat nice ass, no boobs above D cup

My ideal mc huh ?.. For me, MC HJC and MC from "sealed memories" on Royalroadl was my ideal MC.

 

My ideal MC is someone who uses his/her brain instead of relying on OP powers.

That's one of the reasons why I can't stomach xianxia. They have MCs that can tear apart the heavens, make craters, create illusory swords that can kill whole armies and fight gods on equal terms but they themselves are either idiots or they enjoy pulling out OP powers from their asses. In the worst cases, the MCs are both idiots and enjoy pulling out OP powers from their or other people's asses. I'm not saying all, but most xianxia MC are like that, starts as trash, becomes OP as fuck then keeps smashing everyone like it's their god given right.

They should learn from awesome xianxia and wuxia authors, such as Jin Yong instead of releasing crap that are mirror copies of those before them, only with more exaggerations added to make it appear cooler.

In comparison, the MC from The Amber Sword fits my definition of 'ideal MC' even though they're both chinese fantasy novels. The appeal factor is like heaven and the underword. Heaven in Amber Sword's favour.

 

Ideal would be an MC who's witty, not too arogant but still confident, and not afraid of women, or killing.
The rest doesn't matter, just as long the the MC isn't a total bitch, and can actually get things done.

 

My ideal Mc would be, someone who has same personality, intellect, emotions, and appearance as I do. So pretty much myself.

I agree with this. The closer the MC is to me, the more I relate, so the more I get into a novel.

But at the same time, I have nothing in common with Meng Hao, Kumo, or Lan Jue. So yeah... I sort of read everything.

 

Intelligent, Cunning, Ruthless, Weak to Strong.

 

My ideal MC... is someone who does not think sane, but acts sane.
Btw, I've read enough male MCs, are there any good female ones?

 

Best MC are ones that have a clear & believable character traits and have real development while going through his/her story

for me there's no ideal like they must be OP, super intelligent, or something like that. Just ones that make me like and "support" him/her throughout the story

I can't really describe what is like MC that I like.
I can say Shiba Tatsuya is my most favorite male MC.
About female MC, yeah, Hirasawa Yui.

 

IMO a good MC is a person who follow his/her desire.
Smart or dumb, weak or stronk, greedy or not, many of these trait are obtainable with hardwork.
But without desire is useless.
