Discussion What kind of novel would you read to the end?

Question is thread title.

 

Well, the first requirement is that those novels need to be complete or completely translated.

 

Hmm if these are the options then i think i would go full romance.

EDIT- I don't care about the fights if everyone is retarded or the mc is just a typical beta mc and also i hate novels which have romance tag but show fl fall for the MC in one chapter.

EDIT2- Don't even get me to talk about world building. It is just a bullshit concept for CN authors especially in cultivation novels. Lets see. The author says that x cultivation very rare but then after 50 chapters they appear like cabbages with -100 iq and then this process repeats itself throughout the novel. It is just plain stupid

 

..... I'm even doubt if those mediocre novel have ending and not just abandoned halfway through..........

 

Where's the 'none of the above' option?

Depending on definitions then maybe I've finished some novels of the #3 category...

You've accurately described all the things that makes me love a novel and paired them with all the things that make me rage quit them.

I eventually picked "Great battles and power progression/ Mc with -10 IQ" because that basically describes EER and ICDS, both of which I read to the end.

I wanted to pick "Great world building and innovative battles/ romance bad enough to claw your eyes" but that basically describes The World Online, which I dropped back when his fiances' stupid family was ruining everything and have yet to get around to reading again.

 

I hate all these chooses.
I love great battles but ,hate -10 IQ MCs.
Love great romance, hate the cheesy stuff
Love great world building, hate bad romance
I usually drop mediocre/bad story's because I get bored.
I don't hate stupid villains but they get boring fast and unbearable if there is more then 2 or 3 of them.

 

I read what i like and thats it.
Its random. But mainly jp/kr.

 

Or maybe the novels you read were just bad?
Maybe pick some decent chinese novels to read?

 

can't it be just an overall good novel? why must it have all those flaws ;\

 

There are only few which are like that and well nowadays i just first hand avoid cultivation novels as they are repetetive and boring with no proper romance

If you like romance, maybe read Martial Arts Master. Honestly one of the best romance Chinese novel I've read in quite a while.
Just read the first ~50 chapter to see if it is to your liking.
No dumbass youngmaster, no swooning females dropping down to their knee at their first sight of MC, no needless drama,
just a story of a guy in college doing his best to better his life and be with the one he loves.
Slice of life by the way.
Also TOURNAMENT ARCS.
This novel is kinda like a sport anime now that I think about it

I know and i have read it upto chapter 530~ in the raws. This is also the reason that i say only cultivation novels have crap romance but not all CN novels

how about great world building, good plot, smart MC, but romance is little to zero in exchange? that would be my first pick. (better no romance than some of the train wrecks I've read on this site).
the one with the idiot MC would be last place for me; i usually stop reading once i realize the MC has the IQ of a ten to thirteen year old, no matter how good the battle scenes. i grind my teeth when i get frustrated and idiot MCs frustrate me to no end; for the sake of not inducing chronic jaw pain and headaches i try to avoid them.

Hmm that one. I have heard about it but i am more of a completion~ist and it is on Qi so i don't plan to read it for right now.
Also if you can then give me link to your reading list. I want to see some reading lists for reference to get some new novels to read.
