That sounds like the relationship between the main character of "the Death Mage Who doesn't want a fourth time" and a "hero" that the MC hates. The MC's life was changed due to the hero's actions, an action that that he really regrets.

True, these kind of extreme heroes (which I like to a sickening extreme) like to do the "with us or against us" thing, and cause genocide to "kill the threat in the cradle". But these heroes are often chaotic good, not lawful good, unless said lawful good has "executors" to do the deeds.

I kind of dislike lawful goods because they tend to fuck themselves up due to bureacracy and red tapes. End up with betrayals and shits to their loved ones.

While lawfuls can have black white views, they tend to hold themselves back (due to adhering the useless laws) from removing the threats permanently, which bites them back hard.

A villain writen by a bad author...

Causing the villain to be too op for Mc to handle, only to be beaten by mc due to plot armor.

    It's freaking hard to swallow...

Super smart villain that the hero really hate but still need to be corporate with because the villain hold sort of important things for hero.

I have met this kind of villain in certain jrpg, and i really really hate him on abysmal level.

Hm....... someone like joker from the dark knight? Even the most moraly upright or super hero would find it hard to deal with his ingenious scheme...... play several step ahead of his opponents, attack them psychologicaly, and turn ur hope into despair..... money? Power? Women? Go to hell! All of it matters not as long as the world burn!

The plot twist kind of villains. Those the hero would never have thought to be the evil mastermind of immeasurable level.

People, all villains that are stronger than hero are not qualify since they can be beaten by hero without any problem. I am talking about villain that surely would lose to hero in any sort of direct fight (even with hostages, knowing hero's weaknesses and etc). I am talking about villain that is hard for hero to deal because... He is... Well... HERO in classic sense of this word... The epitome of justice and all good, like a paladin.

I’m thinking something really similar to this, a classic hero who saved the day, but as time went on and he tried to apply his ideals to reality it just breaks him little by little until he becomes a villain.

Like the power of friendship! But then his friends commit mistakes and he tries to cover for him and he gets dragged through the mud for it.

And work hard for justice! But there’s always gray areas with this, maybe he has family that does something wrong and he wants to believe them when they say they didn’t but in the back of his mind he knows they did.

And to help those in need! But then when disaster strikes on a longer term scale, say he was granted a territory for his heroic acts and he has to make decisions on helping his subjects and he knows he will lose a lot of them regardless of his decision.

And just little by little after his adventure ends he comes to terms with how the good aren’t good, and there’s darkness in everyone’s hearts, and how not all conflicts can be solved by a group of teens/young adults who are ‘chosen’ that just go out and swing their swords and save the day. The hero loses his faith in everything he believed in, and then sees the next ‘Hero’ and sees the Hero as his younger, naive self, and sets about destroying the Hero. Not just because the villain sees the Hero as wrong, but because the villain wants to destroy the shadows of his former self he sees in him. Maybe even after all the villain has been through, he still can’t let go of his last bit of ‘goodness’ he’s buried deep down, and he thinks if he can get rid of the Hero, he’ll be able to finally kill that little piece of him.

But that would just open the ending of the Hero giving a speech about how he believes in the villain and he comes back to the light, so maybe he wouldn’t be that tough a villain in the end?

The one who had all the power in the world and did everything for the Greater Good. Or, the one who had nothing and was willing to lose everything for revenge against the hero.

Basically, any tragic characters are really hard to hate, even more so when they were in the grey zone of morality.

A jester. Someone who is clearly evil, but commits evil as if it's a prank. Everyone knows what he's doing is evil, but he always gives the "Chill out, bro. Punk'd ya!" And if the hero kills him for it, the hero will be seen as petty or inflexible. So the hero ignores the jester. But over time, the jester's pranks escalate slowly, too slow for the hero to realize that he's been desensitized by the jester. Until one day, the hero falls in love with the jester and can't live without him.

They then kiss and have great gay ass grabbing before finding out that the jester is the hero's brother from a different mother who the hero happened to date in the past after his father dumped her ass for a hotter and younger piece of ass which made the jester's mother angry at his father and by association, the young piece of ass's son who happens to inherit his father's good looks, and while seducing the hero, the jester's mother fell in love with the hero and grieved that she has now lost her drive to exact revenge committed suicide my choking herself in gouda cheese which in turn caused the jester who wasn't yet a jester at the time of his mother's death to blame the hero for it and decided to destroy the hero before he too fall in love with the hero but surprise, the hero is a girl all along but this brings with it a problem of its own because the jester is also a girl who masqueraded as a boy because he, sorry I mean she, thought skirts are for pussies and she was no pussy, no sir, she was a bitch, a rough mean bitch ready to snap at her newly found brother who happens to be her sister and she thought fuck I need a dick.

Besides an attractive villain or a villain with similar viewpoints as the hero, there is one type that is even harder than that: an SJW nagging Flat-Earth mother-in-law who lives in a van down by the river with Seymour, a Chris Walken-sounding and silent film-watching vegan cannibal zombie moose.
