for me, knowing it won't be completed, in which case I'll drop it at the end of an arc.

I drop it if I can no longer stomach the plotholes and stupid views the author is insinuating. Don't be too idealistic and realistic, machiavellianism is shit if you go overboard.

Bad transitions into plot armor (aka, author does not give plot armor to the MC in a smooth fashion and makes it either appear out of nowhere or just throws it at the MC)
Bad MC decisions (given that the MC is mentally capable of thinking through his actions yet does stupid things, that is unless it is for comedy sake)
    Too many girls (self explanatory)
Girls with no individuality (also self explanatory)
MC's waifu is constantly targeted (like wtf the second the waifu is safe and with MC again, another villain literally walks up and kidnaps her again. That happens way too often)
Second chance novels in general don't appeal to me especially when they overuse the "oh I remember every little detail that's going to happen" kind of plot.
Novels where they put a girl in for the MC just for the sake of adding a "subtle romance" tag. Then they forget about her for the rest of the novel.
I have a lot more, but don't really feel like listing it all out.

A poorly written character. If you don't develop him/her, in a natural way, making him/her feel like a human being, I'm not going to read your novel. The most important thing in a novel is the character development.

    - Knowing the end will be shit, I just stop at a nice spot in that case.
    - Rape, if done for no plot-related reason, by the MC or to a major character. (except if I'm reading a smut maybe...)
    - Absolute garbage translation
    - It's so boring I fall asleep while reading it (happened before)
There might be more, but I can't be bothered to think of any other reasons right now.

Uffu, I can write a huge list for it.

    1. When the plot procceeds too fast.
    2. When the main pairing meets for the first time and immediately fall in love.
    3. Related to 2. with the ML's immediately obsession.
    4. System.
    5. When the plot is too similar to others.
    6. An inexperienced writer that tries to write a cliche story. (Although it's possible for an experienced writer to write a successful cliche story. If he she takes advantage of the nostalgia from the people. It's risky. )
    7.When it's written in 1st pov.
    8. When the pov switches too much between many characters.
    9. When writers add ( Sentence ) in the middle of the paragraph.
    10. When it's a wall of text without any paragraphs.
    11. When everything is like tinkerbell vomitted rainbows of glitter and sparkles. In short too many cute fantasy stuffs.
    12. When the writer adds romance, because the readers said so.
    13. When the writer is influenced by the readers and thus rewrites the scene.
    14. When a beginner writer just recycles the ones he she read before and adds it to the story.
    15. When the writer pms every living possible in any platform and chat to read their stuff.
    16. 2D characters
    17. Harem 2D characters
    18. Related to 17. Yes, of course we gladly share you with the others phrase. Just write a p0rn without plot story then.
    19. Too much face-slapping.
    20. Too much making main characters looking good.

    21. There is more than i can recall for now....

I'm petty so I will drop a novel if I don't like the people who likes it. It's a oddly works well. I read the Trash of the Count’s Family LDs and decided it was to girly and bl vibes were strong. As well Library of heavenly path comments are nothing but corny jokes.

That depends on the kind of novel and if the author is doing to much BS...... it really depends a lot on what you are reading about, a good example would be NTR on a romance novel... Or killing your favorite character... or that the author is rushing things, doing ilogical things in the setting, not explaining well things... a lot of reasons
This made me remember the novel Gate of Good Fortune... which should be called gate of misfortune due to the MC meeting a girl, getting atached, helping her out only for her to either get fucked by another guy, get sold an slave, gets sent far away and never see her again, get hunted down for some reason and getting captured.... and in that novel this happens if i remember right 7 times in a row with 7 different girls... Of course the MC gets trashed in all those 7 and has to run away

I love (the theme) of “Hail the King“

But I just couldn't handle those football player names for more than 100 odd chapters...
