In order to maximize the number of people seeing a chapter released on the front page of NU, what is the optimal time to post a chapter? I'd assume it would be noon in American central time, but I haven't got much data on it. What time do you guys find best to post?
Around SEA, right now. It's lunch time and we got time for a chappie or two. Also the time a lot of new threads are created.
The best way is to release two chapters in one day spread at least 6 hours apart or split one chapter into two parts
post that chapter around 1~2 hour window at the same time even it not being post every day like for me during issth, it always around 10pm~12pm
No don't it is so annoying when translators do that. Even if the chapter is super long and you can't finish the whole thing in one day, it is still better to make your readers wait a little longer, rather than have their hopes dashed on a partial release.
For who? New readers or existing readers? For new readers, it is best to rotate the time randomly, and have it also vary by weekend/weekdays. For old readers, probably same time as popular releases but not mass releases.
Best would be around noon SEA time and midnight central USA time. Why? Because SEA people love abusing the internet during office hours. So the most readership you'd get in SEA is somewhere noon all the way to several hours later, when work has settled down and the boss isn't breathing down their necks anymore.
Being consistent with the time you post is always good. If you say update 3 times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at say 8pm (whatever timezone). If I see it enough times I'll generally look at the synopsis at least. And Generally around now and maybe 1-2 hours after this should be a pretty nice time to post up chapters.
I usually notice the posting is slowed down from about 12 A.M. PST to around 6-7 A.M. So if you're looking for lower posting times to pop yours up that would be the time, but if you're looking for higher traffic, most people tend to release theirs around 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. PST. At least that's when I see the highest number of chapters being updated. So best bet would be to release around this time of day when the number of people posting is less but the number of people who are home and not yet asleep are higher.
I agree. It gives me something good to read on the bus back from work. It used to be Australia was on the wrong side of the world for most things, but here, its on the right side!
