Pretty sure thats why most if not all of the translators that translate novels or manga/manhwa/manhua all say that you shouldnt post anything on social media bc they dont actually have permission to do so.

If you want to pursue this as a serious source of income, then just pick some other series. If it's just a hobby that you don't really intend to profit on, go ahead. When the fight comes, you can simply cut the deadweight off.

Just dont translate anything from Qidian/Webnovel.
Maybe check it out more if its licensed or something. Because they will really sue your ass if they notice you.

Most translators don't ask for permission when doing their translations.

Some do, and that's fine. If you want to translate only things that you have permission for, then go ahead and do it like that... Most translators don't do that though, they just translate whatever they want without a care in the world.

Of course, it is illegal to post unauthorized translations online, but most translators don't care about it.

Then you should try to find some other series whose author is more approachable. Because while you can earn from this, you never know when you will get a DMCA.

Better stop doing it. Any translator will tell you that you can never get a serious income from translating. I doubt you will even be able to make a dollar for the first six months.

If you want to do it legally with permission from the author, join publishing companies. They are the one who will contact the author to ask for permission AND discuss how much they should pay for translation license. Copyright for official translation doesn't come out for free.

If you want to do it illegally, just translate and publish it. This is what is dubbed fantranslation. Use ads and other tools to get funds support to do it. No need to ask for permission, but, be prepared to get DMCA-ed. If you still insist on contacting the author, the author will loathed you publicly on his/her social medias.

I hope that's clear for you.
    The choice is yours.

Translate without ... It really depends if you are doing this for public or personal use. Since most as in 95% + of the translations you see are " illegal " with rare exceptions. One would be Fuse giving authorisation to translate Tensura WN

But most authors do not hold the rights to their works
