The manga site started their own translation of the novel.

As a reader of both mangas and novels, it kind of irks me to see that a manga site puts up novel translations without any notice.

Not that I'm the translator of the series, but it's like they didn't bother to try to find out anything about the novel translations community.

They must have known that there was a novel named 'She Was Both Called God, As Well As Satan' to have the same manga title, or it translated out to the aforementioned title.

In the former case, they could have contacted the current translator. In the latter case, they could have translated the title along with the word 'translation' to be linked to either NU or Moonbunnycafe.

Either way, it seems like it was laziness on their part, but I don't blame them. Maybe they just didn't know that there was a site called 'Novel Updates' for novels that works the same as 'Bato.to' for manga.

If the two were unrelated, by novel updates' standards it's still legitimate competition because there's still no "active translator" or a translator that meets Novel updates' rules.

However, I looked it up, and in this case the manga site seems to be co/re-hosting that translation as the novel translator seems to be related to them if you look at his wordpress' sidebar.

    False alarm my friend.
