    You'll have to redo the settings. Resetting the router resets everything to factory defaults.

    Just a bit of advice for not forgetting passwords in the future.

    You generally want passwords that are 8+ characters, that have a capitalized letter, and have a symbol plus numbers.

    you also don't want to reuse passwords multiple times.

    And you also shouldn't just have a document on your computer some where that says..

    Citicard = abc123
    Chase = 123abc
    Health insurance = xyz987

    and so on.

    What i do is, i bookmark the login page for all of my important sites, and then i rename them to a code that will remind me of my password.

    For instance...
    Local bank = highwayhell band 2ndhalf x2, bmonth, loud, DOG.

    Which means, the band that made the song highway to hell is ACDC, and the 2nd half means just dc, and x2 means its repeated. B month is my birthday month, loud means add an exclamation mark, and dog refers to my dog's name, and the fact that it's all in caps means that the dogs name should be too.

    Which means the password is dcdc09!SAM

    It's enough for me to figure out any password, but no one would ever be able to guess that, even if they stalked me for days.

    As I said, if you reset it. It will return t the default username and password that the company has setted up. You can see the default username and password at the back of the router.

    But if you really want to set up a new username and password. You can type the IP Address of the router to the browser which is also located at the back of the router. For example is, 192.1.1.1 Something like that.

    After you type that, there will appear some GUI you won't understand. But you will need to log in before you can actually go to the front end of the website.

    Usually the username and password is located also at the back of the router to access through the router's IP Address.

    After you access through t, search for the Set up and click it.

    After that Go to the WLAN
    Change the SSID name
    The password is located at the Preshared Key name If i'm not mistaken. Change that, and that will be your new password and your new username.

    Click save
    and Thats done.

    Unless you still kept the contract, which holds the id and password for your internet connection, don't do it.

    lol wut?
    Nothing will happen, depending on routers
    ... just reset it to factory settings and viola. it'll reset, including the password and connection of others.
    but the default password depends on ISPs too. you can just ask the help center for that first, it won't violate the contract actually. But you need o ask the router's default password tho(most of them is just in the back of it).
    P.S. you can just reset the connection or custom settings(e.g. change password, etc.) via entering your IP in url(It'll direct you to your ISP's router's settings). However, if you don't know what you're doing, it recommended not to.

    i don't know if it's the same in everycountry but in mine when people sign a internet contract they're given a router using a PON connection to get internet, and in order for it to work you have to use the username and password they give you when you sign the contract( this is usually done by the tech guy) to login to the router, this is not the administrator usename and password. This username and password is very hard to change unlike the administrator one.
