When I browse on a novel, sometimes I can see that the last release for a chapter was 6 months ago, or longer in the past. Is it normal that the same group resumes posting after a long break (may that be a hiatus in the original novel release or hiatus in the group)? I am fully aware that other groups can start publishing new releases for the same novel but I am curious if the same group ever resumes releasing after a long break? And if so, what is the longest break we have seen? One year? Two years? etc... Does Novel Updates still automatically fetch new releases from a group if they haven't release anything for that novel for longer than 6 months?
Hmm there's a lot of them you see.. i have wondering about it too. My favorite novel included in that situation. I someone please answer
The rules state that as long as they were a former translator of the said novel, the release will be posted and acknowledge. Or just read this. https://www.novelupdates.com/nu-policy/
Sure, but that doesn't mean that someone who translated a chapter in 2012 will suddenly submit one in 2018. What is the longest interval between submissions from the same group to the same novel?
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/next-life/ 08/30/18 National NEET v2c2 09/12/16 National NEET v2c1 102 weeks, maybe?
haha Baka-Tsuki registered as a group on NU now that what I call hiatus https://www.novelupdates.com/series/ghost-hunt/ 7 years!
defan's translations released a single chapter of F-Rank no Boukun 08/21/16 then next one was 05/10/18 For shounenai. Scrya translated There’s a Pit in My Senior Martial Brother’s Brain first 5 chapter from April to July 2016 then put it on hiatus to focus on his main project, translations resuming with chapter 6 coming out August 23 of this year. You know that feeling when you put on a coat you haven't worn in a while and find a twenty, that's how I feel when a novel on my dead list suddenly has an update.
I think Tu-Shu-Guan's Treasured Sword, Golden Hairpin is the one you're looking for Foreword 09/08/07 c1 part1 12/25/11 c1 part2 12/03/17 Even their other series The Crane Startles Kunlun saw some hiatus with its chapter 3 going up 02/12/08 then chapter 4 05/13/11. It sees some long breaks with a release frequency of 144.9 days and is in the middle of a break right now.
If you start translating the series from the beginning If you have permission from the current active translator If your releases were accepted when there were no active translators at the time If you have translated at least 50 releases (according to the raw site) for the series If you were an active translator at any point for the series If your releases were accepted due to meeting the requirements at any point Your release is locked. (Not accepted: password protected, requiring user to log in, appwalled or paywalled releases. Accepted: adwall releases). For password protection releases, an exception to this rule would be if the password is on the same page as the chapter link and easy to find. Your release is not translated from an Asian novel. No raw source is found for your chapters. Try reading the bold one with a bigger font. As long as the former TL was a translator, his releases will be seen the next time he will post.
For as long as they have an RSS feed, NU can fetch their releases automatically for as long as they were once registered in NU's database~
