    What's the reason you stop reading a novel?
    FYI the options are the reasons i've drop a novel, if you have a different reason please comment
    Edit: forgot to add my most ridiculous reason to drop a novel: the writing is too good

    I decided to stack the chapters indefinitely... I never got the chance to binge read them...

    I read too much and when the novel was coming to the end I became too sad and stopped to forever leave it unfinished...

    When one of the characters that i am shipping with mc dies or wasn't picked.

    Well, most of the reasons are already stated above.

    Many reasons:
    • Plot went bad, like Really bad. Or maybe not that bad, but personally I don't like how the plot will go anymore.
    • The Updates......slow updates that will take forever to finish. Or "curse" novels.
    • When you think you know whatever the incoming arcs will be because of the repetitiveness.....and you don't like those repetitive arcs.
    That's only some that I could think of for now.

    Most of the time because of the unbearable protagonist or the highly questionable plot.

    2 special circumstances were because of site's layout.

    1st, there's this huge empty space covering half of my phone. It's supposedly for ads but I was using ad block so it was empty. That half empty space was freaking eye catching & bothersome because i could only read the chapter on the top half of my screen.

    2nd insane amount of redirect ads. i had to close 4 tabs of redirected ads before managing to get to the chapter

    My number one reason for dropping a novel is if I can’t stand or can no longer stand the main relationship. Good world building, an interesting twist, or an interesting character will sometimes get me through, but not always. I can tolerate it a bit better if I hate either only the MC or the ML. If I dislike both, I’m going to drop it much quicker.

    The number 1 reason Ive dropped novels is due to how harems are handled, even more so when they went polygamy.

    While I'm not exactly a fan of harem, I can tolerate it most of the time, but some stuff goes below my botom line

    Eh, I do that sometimes too. It’s one of the reasons I’ve never watched the last season of Downton Abbey.

    Some tropes would make me stop. While I persevered sometimes, most of the time these days I just move them to my stack list and forgot all about them. Some of the reasons are:

    • NTR
    • MC/LI marrying someone else while still pining for each other aka cheating
    • MC/LI in a relationship but cheated with other people
    • MC got nerfed
    • Excessive discrimination by MC more so if it's related to RL, this includes political, racism, religious, feminism etc
    • Pushover MC
    • Weak, crybaby, can't do anything but cry, martyr complex, hero complex, holy mother complex MC
    • Author justifying MC/LI's criminal acts and their partners accepting those with a "it can't be helped I still love you" attitude
    • Surprise dogblood plot twist

    Well i often temporary drop novels when the story doesnt have any interesting plot and challenge happening, then i probably will try pick it up again after tens of new chapters released.

    But will permanently drop novels when the mc change attitude from righteous into evil, from smart to dumb, or from loyal to harem chaser. Also if the story doesnt feel going anywhere in ~50 chapters.
