As the title says, which program do you use to write? Do any of you mainly write on paper?

I've mainly been using MS Word (Online through Dropbox), but, tbh, I don't like it too much, especially for keeping an overview.
Don't get me wrong, I like its features and all around it is nice, but I can't help wanting some other features that Word sinply doesn't have. A good example would be something like the spoilers here on NUF. Excellent for compartmentalization (?) ...

ps: I'm not looking for any proofreading program or anything, just a good writing program.

It depends on the programming language.

Edit: oh wait. I didn't read the post, just the title. I mostly write by hand cause that makes me feel more in touch with that I write.

I literally wrote on Grammarly because it's a pain to save things online manually.

Google Docs for pc and Writer tools for phone

Writer tools is good when you want to list every character and location so you won't forget them later

When Im on my PC, definitely Word. I have three versions installed...don't ask me why. When I'm really distracted (i.e. layout or anything) , it's Notepad for me. I don't like the 365 Word. Its a generation thing.
    On Cloud, it's Docs.
On phone, Writer app or the any of the 3 note-taking apps I always have

I think Word does support most of LaTeX throufh equation editor. Not sure if they have it limited to only equations though.

Also for my rp writing purposes, I just use which ever editor is open, google docs, npp, vscode, heck I even wrote once in Jupyter notebook. It does support LaTeX too.

    Scrivener.

Sadly, the feature I got the program for (the ability to choose a background image to set a mood for writing) isn't available on the iOS, which was a pretty big disappointment. Still, the program is very good. I used to use Evernote and Scrivener is just so much better when it comes to organizing plots and character sheets or notes or research. It's not a free program, but if you spend a lot of time writing it's worth the money (especially if you're on a PC, TT_TT)

I use MS Word tbh... Like... It just works fine? I can't really think of anything I'd need that it doesn't already offers.

I make sure to keep one document for each chapter and another for notes in general though, to make sure I don't get lost.

    +1 for Evernote and Scrivener.

Learning how to use Scrivener took some getting used to. It was worth it. I think I upped my productivity around 30%

LibreOffice when I need formatted text. Notepad++ when I don't. Notepad when speed takes priority.
