So as the title says, my upgrade is ready and I'm finally annoyed enough by Apple to go get a new phone. Thus I want an android but just don't know what is best to go with.

I got one friend who swears by the Galaxy note 7 and another that swears by the s7 edge.

Personally I like the design of the s7 edge but I'm not about to go buy a phone cause I like the way it looks.

So basically what I'm asking is what's the best android phone out there as of now?

I need a large phone such as the Note series. As such, I already pre-ordered the Note 7. The Galaxy series and others their size are too small for my hands. They look like little toys in my hands.

I am using S7 edge and I'm quite satisfied with it. Screen is nice and big with curves on both sides.
Note 7 is not much different from S7 edge, it's just that has s-pen and some extra features which in my opinion are not important.
You could just watch a comparison video between S7 edge and Note 7 on YouTube and decide for your self that which one suits you the best.

I could but it's better here cause it's possible to get actual user feedback on some of these instead of just some random article

Well I might as well ask...what do you plan to use your phone for?? There is no singular phone that is 'the best'. If you use it like a tablet, then we need one with a good enough processor. If you dont use it for gaming apps, and more for phone, text, then almost all of them will work. If you need a better camera, some have better cameras. What is your primary usage?

The edge phone has better user experience and also looks nice with the usual top end features.

Everyday use mostly, gaming apps when I'm bored, text, calls, ect most of the other time. I would like a good battery life for when I go out to the fields for a few days straight I won't need to take along 3 portable chargers like I do now

I haven't had any hands on experience with the note 7 but I used the s7 edge a bit and played around with it and it's a good phone but if both of them will cost you the same (or the difference in price is negligible) I'd say go for the note 7 because it's newer and the s pen on the note 5 was amazing.

Samsung galaxy phones are nice, and they can easily run multiple programs at once. You just need to remember to restart your phone from time to time when it starts slowing down.
