    Well if we are going with Norse mythology, then you certainly cannot disregard Jormungandr’s sibling “the dread wolf” Fenrir.

    Eastern Dragons are considered gods, it's not fair to compare them to their "mere lizard" western cousins

    you miss Cthulhu, he/she/it/they who cannot be formed by our feeble minds :aww:

    if gods are out, then doppelgangers. Assuming they can copy up to someone/thing with same power

    Unless that gryffin is legendary on top of mythical, with a forty foot wingspan, and generating thunder storm as easily as it breathes, then it doesn't deserve to be on the list, it's just a flying lion, wildlife. That said, pretty sure Kun Peng is supposed to be related to the hydra, and eats dragons in its myths, so...?

    Given those choices, dragons will win.
    Griffins and hydra are just mid type boss class in games. Kun peng? I dunno, i dont read chinese novels.

    Plus dragons are the most portrayed strongest beasts in myths. Even in china, dragons are symbol of power.

    Gorgons. Not Medusa but the other 2, Stheno and Euryale. They were immortal and even the gods didn't go near them for fear of being turned.
