The entire translation is a grey area, and technically, according to most copyright laws, the law-breakers would be the translators if they don't have permission from the right holders. But do you really own the derivative work of others you simply reworked? By your example, what you're arguing for is that if you stole someone else's car, then did a makeover on it, it belongs to you now. Granted it's not this simple with digital goods since it's hard to calculate loss since you're copying, not stealing, but it still invalidates your argument.

 

If I stole your car then do makeover by adding/changing headlight and stereo. The car still yours, but the head light and stereo is mine. You can demand me to return the car like it used to be but I also have right to the headlight and stereo.

 

But you didn't add those things that can be removed, you simply remodeled the car so it looks cooler so its overall value went up. Well, this is basically where IP laws breaks off when we try to use them on real goods.

Also, not sure what are you trying to prove with your messages. I never said EFT was a team that dished out high-quality translations. In fact, most of them are pretty bad at what they're doing, but there are also good ones like @lonelytree.

Nobody have a perfect translation, neither the translators on WW nor QI. The readers will judge by showing their supports to those who they like. Even if you have a perfect translation (which I doubt so), your arrogant attitude will not bring you anywhere.

I'm more than 50% sure that there are more than 1 translator doing MMORPG : Rebirth Legendary Guardian.
They mistranslate main villain name 7 times in 2 different chapter.
