IMO, Novel is another way for us to escape from reality by immerse and delude ourselves into world of the story we read. Imagining ourselves capable of doing what MC or characters around him/her can do which isnt possible in our real world So, My question... which one you prefer the most? [Incomprehensible Bullshit that sound believable] This is a stuff that involve purely fantasy or related to magic, like using mana to manipulated the nature or those Xianxia cultivation (where you sense energy between heaven and earth, absorb into your body like filling water tank... then your soul has a space that change depend on your cultivation) [Scientific Stuff that sound plausible] i dont know how to explain, it should be something like explanation for stuff from Heavy Object and To aru majutsu no index (minus magic stuff). It was explain in a way, this sound plausible but can we really achieve this ? maybe one day humanity would!
What I really care about are characters. I like the MC, I can accept some really really weird bullsh*t. I don't... well, I'm not gonna read about some dude I don't even like, even if the worldbuilding is great Edit: what I learned to accept (or stop watching sci-fi) are SOUNDS. IN. SPACE. Which annoys me something fierce.
Been studying science/maths for f**king 3/4 of my life. Don't wanna go deep into it in fiction-novels too.
I prefer the sciency stuff because some of the cultivation stuff feels like it was invented by someone that is high, which just annoys me.

okay wtf just happened.... I voted for sciencey stuff but got my vote locked in as incomprehensible bs.... Also for science, some examples would be some scifi or space settings, say galactic heroes or crest of stars
Went for the believable bullshit. Sometimes it is interesting to see what new concept would the author concoct for a story. Though, cultivation novels tends to just rinse and repeat stuff so not something like that. On the other hand, sciency stuff could be nice as well. Kinda fun to see how author tries to insert strict logic and laws for things that are still not possible with today's technology.
