hi, i'm just curious about your preference

i, myself, like not knowing who the love interest is when starting to read a novel. It kept me guessing who will be the love interest or if i have any pairing in mind. i still read the summary tho, but i kind of blur the name so i don't remember even the MC name. :blobsweat::blobsweat:

the downside is that when i thought character B is the love interest, it turned out character C, who came out late or didn't have any impression for the MC was the love interest. it bumped me out, and i tend to re-read it again.

i don't know if this thread has been posted before or not...so tell me if it has.

I'm fine with both as long as the couples are matches made in heaven.

I wish i know who is the love interest before reading. It keeps me from overly attached to a certain character that I wish to be the love interest in the first place.

I would prefer knowing first, unless I go into the story knowing it's a drama; otherwise it gives me bad feelings for the future. Could feel like the author is ship baiting to keep people reading, the author themselves don't know who the pairing will be and leave it ambiguous, or worst case scenario leave it up to a popularity poll.

As long as it's not yaoi or yuri, i prefer to not known the pairing inside the novel

Both really. As long as the couple is nice, I find both to be awesome

I personally prefer to know that way I can piece together any little hints that I would normally miss before hand that would foreshadow them being together later on in the story.

In the hands of a good writer, I only have a slight preference towards not knowing who the love interest is. A good writer can make any kind of story sing so it's not going to matter too much either way. But if we're talking about bad writers, then I would massively prefer not knowing. At least that way the writer is encouraged to make multiple interesting characters rather than putting all of their eggs in one basket. It makes it worse when that one love interest ends up being a terrible character and drags the whole story down with him.

It's kind of hard for me to decide, it really comes down to the novel. Overall though, I think I prefer knowing.

Not knowing stresses me out sometimes cause I'll get super invested in one character only to eventually realize that they're not the love interest aha.

I really prefer not knowing who the couple will be because that way, I can play detective while reading. Often times, knowing who the major couple will be from start becomes too much of a spoiler in the novel that I ended up dropping the novel because I can already kinda guess how the story would end, so no suspense left to motivate me to read further.

I'm really into straight-love couple so when I know the couple is going to end up BL/GL, i'll drop it like hot potato.
