So I finished reading the biography of helen keller (I would recommend buying it, really good read) about 2 weeks ago. It was really inspiring. And it motivated to actually try and learn mandarin, something I always try but give up after couple days. But not this time, Helen Keller's story really inspired me to learn chinese and I have been learning it for the past couple of weeks.
So who/ what inspires/ motivates you guys?
Could be anything song, movie, person, book, etc.

Learned about her in grade school. Couple months back found out someone didn't know who she was. Was really surprised.

Inspiration and motivation are things I struggle with and while I agree her story can do both things it fails to connect emotionally for me. I guess I haven't found that person or thing yet.

I need the motivation to get off the couch before I even bother thinking about anything else.

A good scene(tv/manga/novel) and/or good music can motivate me...
But it's always temporary, like Mario Kart mushroom...

For now, nothing. And I don't know who's that writer, maybe I'll read that book, maybe not. Motivation is hard to find, it must motivate you good enough to make sacrifices and gather your energy and spend time so that you'll have a chance to succes in your endeavour. But, if I'll have love, maybe I'll try my best... But, until then, I'll spend my time lazying around because I can only imagine results but can't obtain them for various reasons... Or so I think.

Helen Keller is/was a blind deaf woman. If I recall correctly she lost both her sight and hearing around the time she was a toddler but eventually learned to read, and even speak. Of course it's been over a decade since I learned about her so she probably did more than just that. Still, it's pretty incredible.

I knew about her during grade school never really went in depth, until couple months ago when I picked up a couple of her literary works.
Yea i completely understand finding motivation is a hard thing to do. I found Helen Keller motivational because, a couple of my aunts and uncles are deaf, and I have seen first hand how difficult their lives are (finding jobs is tough, lower pay, disrespected by others). As for being blind, that's my biggest fear. So someone who could conquer that, I instantly think of them as respectable.
A couple years ago I also thought money was the greatest motivator, but I learned there are a lot more things that I could be motivated by rather than money. Money is just a bonus.
