Just started reading WMW. The mc looks like a typical mc ,but I've heard that he's evil. I'm curious about how Leylin compares to Fang yuan.
Leylin lmao. FY only acts where there's profit, so he's not really "evil". He just only acts for benefits. Leylin is man... you'll understand as you read on. Enjoy the WMW grind.
Fang Yuan enters people lives to only f*ck them over... Sadly. But that’s just the point of the novel. Everyone is in “insanity” there is no normal person and everyone has their own warped views. Even the younger brother wasn’t spare from this
No, he is evil. He is uprightly evil. It's not all about profit, but his cultivation path. His cultivation path is demonic by nature. The warlock is profit gaining evil, but this demonic cultivator is evil for evil.
Leylin is someone who was insane even before he crossed over. While FY turned evil due to his past life experience.
I don't think it is a right comparison . Both r very much evil ( as people would say ) but circumstances in both of them r different and yes I do believe that it should be taken into consideration when asking who is more ' evil '. I would say both and neither , we will classify them as evil from a third person point of view but in actuality neither of them is evil. Evil can be defined as doing harm for the sake of it ( like the joker ) but both of them aren't like that . They do it for SURVIVAL . Completely different
100% Fang Yuan (from reverend insanity) is more evil. Both of them are classified as evil protagonists because they, well, do bad stuff in their pursuit of power. However, Leylin is completely practical, and when benefits are not involved he even has a sense of duty. As long as he doesn't have to risk himself or sacrifice a significant amount of benefits, he will inconvenience himself to help allies or people he feels he has an obligation to (such as the family of the real Leylin whose body he stole in chapter 1). Even before his bloodline was involved, he was willing to fight for the Ouroboros clan (with the caveat that he'd run away and avenge them if his life was ever at risk). The only example I can think of where he harms someone unprovoked is the incident with Baelin, and he did it to obtain a ridiculously OP magic item that he was still using as a rank 5 Warlock (I'm not counting deaths as a result of collateral damage as neither Leylin nor Fang Yuan care about them). Fang Yuan will happily accept any kindness you give him, and then stab you in the back to steal anything you may have been holding back. He'll then capture your soul and torture you until he knows everything about your loved ones. As we see from the very beginning, even when benefits are not involved, FY can't help but treat people cruelly. He is absolutely incompatible with the righteous path (Leylin joined the Ouroboros clan), and has no sense of duty or honor towards anyone but himself. However, I would say that Leylin is more evil than Fang Yuan from Carefree path of dreams.
Pff... I will add a TWIST. Fang Yuan, but from the same author as Leylin XD AKA Fang Yuan from Carefree Path of Dreams. He is basically both FY from RI and Leylin from WotMW combined
To be fair, FY loved once and said fuck it, I don't care anymore. And yeah, no contest, Fang Yuan is the ultimate evil, he accepted the act of kindness and returned them with backstabs when profits are high enough. He manipulated emotions and sacrifice everything in pursuit of immortality.
leylin isn't evil as most people said at the start, he was a proper "person" but as we read on, the author obviously didnt care about his personality while writing and you can replace him with a sock puppet with an obsession to become immortal put this sock puppet in a world where people steps all over each other and you get a sock puppet who retaliates and we have WMW
leylin doesn't even love tho he just has convenient partner that can give him some talented children she is basically ignored after serving her purpose.
