Why does he keep starting from basic? There are multiple games and it is linear story. He is granted power in every game but he never seems to keep it in the succeeding games.
Good question, even if he gets amnesia so often he should be brain damaged it shouldn't affect his abilities.
I just try to treat those types of games that make you start over that it happens in a different universe continuity so I won't go too crazy over it.
>_> <_< The Rance games has the joke that he slacks off in-between games. Maybe Adol does something similar?
He pawns his gear, lives like slob and looses all the skills and levels, stops talking to all allies... Man! Do I hate that. I love the fact that they explain why. But I hate that that's reason... F*cking Rance
Adol is the opposite of Rance as Adol seems to running away from women after letting them fall in love with him while Rance ...well...he is Rance.
Actually, that's how the God of Rance World made the level system, if you work hard the level goes up, if you slack off your level goes down, makes sense though, no way someone who slack off will retain their level
They all got wash away in the ocean, because in almost every intro on a Ys game, Adol always got shipwreaked in the beginning. (σ^▽^)σ
Aahah, in the end, they just don't want to make him too cheat from the start~ It will be far too easy otherwise~ ( Or actually, there's a real reason ? If one day, we got deeper in his background story, we may know~ but we don't, so we can only wait~)
Oh yeah, Dogi was very grateful on Ys seven when they had arrived there peacefully. Maybe and just maybe Adol thrown those in the ocean in exchange of their safe voyage. Well that's one posibility.
Well, people like to say he slacks off in between games and sells off all the blessed, irreplaceable and dangerous stuff he gains from divine entities to bank travelling costs. and to keep shipwrecking somewhere. We all know it's a lie and the previous Adol actually died and a clone took his place, because conspiracy. Really, though, making a game series with the same protagonist over and over again is hard because of this. Either you let people use their save on the new game, which would destroy the difficulty in most cases, or you reset the character. I'm still mad because Adol loses everything from Ys 1 in Ys 2. Like, couldn't you do something like Trails in the Sky did for SC2 in this case??? The plot was literally a continuation from Ys1 ! ORZ
Only games that doesn't go with that path for a sequel as far as I know is Infamous 2 and God of war tho the latter repeats the same way he loses his powers tho. Still pretty epic to feel like a beast like you left in back in the prequel.
