Stale? Well, seriously it gets repetitive almost all the time! Weak-Strong, Revenge, Cliche Harem Romance and fuck. I swear to any celestial being out there that if there is an actual JP novel that only focuses on Slice of Life yet is still Summoned genre, I'd totally read it, even if its shit.

Because you take these novels from syosetu where there isn't any kind of requirements. Because of this all kinds of people can go there even without any talent in creativity or writing and story structuring.

Could anyone rec a 'game interface' JP without these clichés? Exception: Overlord, Kumo, Slime, Evil God Average.

Xianxia and other genres also got their recurring themes, why aren't you bitching about that too? You're courting death here mate.

Most modern Jap stuff makes me cringe. keyword is most. and modern.
Exceptions are ossan vrmmo, kumo desu nani ga, and a few mangas like Homonculus, Gantz, Kurozuka, Shamo, Phoenix and berserk (till the loli witch is introduced and the demonic vibe goes and disney-party vibe comes)

Most novels are repetitive and just following a set pattern because that is what readers like.

I will definitely be happy... but get pissed later on because almost all the MC's get C**kblocked in this kind of setting. Or maybe the Harem Members do not have enough flair.
