Partially to defend my country but more to defend Marvel, Captain was a war criminal in Civil War and he is supposed to be exaggeratedly perfect and upright to the point he is made fun of...language.

There is a lot, most of us have some level of open hatred or at least dissatisfaction with our country. Some don't like the Supreme Court, many don't like the president, and nobody likes Congress. Well we are fine enough with it as society hasn't completely collapsed. Maybe it is because we are a bit more individualistic but blaming the government probably doesn't feel like self-criticism. Kind of odd considering the claim of democracy and freedom but it is easier just to blame them then considering that we are at fault for putting them there or thinking how I can do better than them. Admittedly in St. Louis we have lots of black people so the public is rather harsh on police and tend to side against them automatically.

I just realized that I completely forgot about op's question. Some people due to group think or something consider themselves literally a part of a country and, by some subconscious extension, the government. No matter that they have little to do with making decisions or running the country and that the country as a whole doesn't know or care about them. So they also conclude the entire country, decision making bodies and all, is part of them and gets thrown in as a bonus for wish-fulfillment when they stoke the protagonists ego. This is why I don't like wish-fulfillment novels, because I am supposed to be on the side of the mc but I think a good antagonist is more important than the protagonist. Getting off topic here so to summarize "I am amazing so my country has to be amazing!"

But there you have eternal summer, everyone is always happy, young and old alike laugh and frolic around that midsummer pole, surströmming never ends and life is always wonderful, small animals gather around you and little birds sing to their utmost for you...

That's true. Those are all good and righteous things and nice to have.

But Finland is pretty cool, too, you gotta give yourself some credit for that. I especially find your cultures of death metal forest dwellers to be really interesting and inspiring, especially as an example of human evolution and how we can evolve to live in eternal ice and darkness, with heat torture and branch whipping as the sole method of anti-depression, all while dealing with the eternal onslaught of wild trolls. That's viking AF and I can respect the hell out of that.

And your education isn't failing, there's that.

    you know what?
although because of Internet we call this a village but rare any part of this village other than the part we live in, we hardly even know our own country so don't expect people to write about thing they don't know
like how most of the world thinks that people in my country(IR) and middle east live in tents and ride camels but that's not the truth

every single human take prides to their homeland, it's in our nature, it's not a bad thing but it's bad to look down on people from other countries

This. Lots of people think their country is the best because they were born in it. No problem with national pride at all. When it turns into fanaticism I dip.

Not really, for starters there's the people that travel for tourism or work, they have a more objective view then comes the internet you know, believe or not some folks actually use the internet to learn about other cultures not to just browse porn. Shocking, right?

    Why not

It's the authors fantasy , he can do whatever he wants.
He wants to see his country reign supreme in his own novel , fair play to him.

    Tradition
    History
    Lineage
    Competitive Spirit
You name it, don't project your own self-hate and lack of passion onto others.

They're sucking their readers/viewers dicks. You can say they know their audience. My country is the same. It's better than hell on earth, but that's about it, yet say a bad word and people will JUMP you. As for the US, just look at how some people reacted to Parasite winning an Oscar. They're the ones who enjoy extensive patriotism in movies, haha. Same in China, tho I'd say it's a lot more "encouraged" by their government.

The equivalent of what you are saying there would mean people should be saying "Canada movies" and that isn't how people say it.
canadian is what they call themselves
american is what the citizens of the US call themselves
Having an issue with the continent and the name used for US citizens being the same is a separate matter from whether someone is sucking up to the US by calling them "american movies". Because they are not, just like they are not sucking up to Canada when they say "canadian movies".

Recently there's the term "statunitians" to refer to or pertaining to USA or its inhabitants. There is also Usonians.
Doesn't the need itself of use terms like 'Canadian movies' show how 'american' is outdated in its definition? Decades ago 'american' made sense because only the USA were active on the international context, only they had movies, shows, series to export to rest of the world, only they had international athletes that became superstars. In the years Canada, Mexico and all the other countries in the American continent have become more perceptible internationally so the use of american to refer to the US sounds a bit silly now.
