I'm alive because all the cells in my body haven't died yet.

Simply because I can't die. Still got 6 more years before there is a chance of my death. Yeah, I can see that I will not die within the next 6 years, though I really wish to die soon.

Those who live on out of a fear of death will choose death when their fear of living on surpasses their fear of death.

Do you seek it out, or do you just live hoping one day you'll find purpose?

Not sure what you're referring to, maybe an illness of sort, but does living knowing that change the way you want to spend those 6 years? If you are suffering, I'm sorry if there is a way I can help Ilet me know.

I do want to leave my name behind at least and settle my On while I'm still around. No, it's nothing to do with an illness. If there is an illness, is that I can't die within the next 6 years. I'm practically immortal for the whole 6 years. This may change, though.

Both? I have moments where I make the effort to find it and then there are also times where I just carry on with life passively hoping to find it.

I live in the hopes that my existence will have an affect on other people... in a positive way, I hope.
I suppose I also live because I am scared.

    All three.
I am scared of what is after life, is there anything? I cannot know. Just that very thought terrifies me.

Are you looking for the answer of what's after life?
Sometimes choosing an "answer" helps to lessen the fear. Kind of how like if you were in a situation you know you're going to die anyways, accepting death, you can do things you were afraid to do when you were afraid of death.
That's how I deal with it anyways. As a Christian I believe in heaven/hell, afterlife not something I fear anymore. (Not that I choose to believe in God for a free ticket out of hell tho) anyways that's how I think hope it helps a little :)

I will not believe something just because it offers me solace. I will choose fear over compromising my beliefs for comfort.

There is no specific reason to live, if anything the reason to live is the challenge to find a reason to live. But if you really need a reason here is one: gather knowledge and experience the world. If there is a next life, experiences are the only thing that have any chance of transferring over because material things certainly don't. Don't fear death. That doesn't mean you actively seek it out, no point in searching out for something that will find you anyway. Current belief systems like to tell you to fear death, and I like to ask them why? Things die all the time humans and animals(humans are animals, we are not special) alike, its a natural mechanic in the world. Fighting to live has been part of the biological nature of all life, humans are just different in that they have evolved to a point to question the mechanic, its nothing exceptionally special. Some seek to understand it, some use it to exploit others, some can't handle it and end the cycle perhaps they will find the greater meaning after.
