I'm an Asian and I personally see lot's of guys with black hair, and I'm fed up of it, so I'm not that into black haired dudes getting the girl, personally I really like silver haired or that dark blue hair colored guys with golden eyes.
Most Asians are born with black hair or very dark brown hair, and those very light hair colors don't go well with the our skin color, even though I'm not that into black hair, in my country if the hair is completely black it's considered very healthy and beautiful so I guess most Asian writers always lets the black haired man get the girl because of that.

 

Tall, dark, and handsome is still a thing.

I wanna say 4 out of 5 times it's because the author is projecting himself on the character that gets the girl(s), but that's just a guess (the point being of course that black hair is overwhelmingly common in Japan, China, and Korea).

I dunno though, it might just be the type of novels you're reading. I keep up with novels where hair color doesn't seem to have a huge impact on who gets together. At least as far as I've noticed.

 

Probably because it's Korean, Japanese, or Chinese novel, with black hair as norm for actual male? And because the stereotype cold ml always have black hair, since it's easy to associate cold personality with black hair

And i think asian novels/mangas/films have dark haired pple as ML,, since it is rlly rarely in asia to have natural blonde hair,,

I would say black hair is just really common and the authors just write them as very handsome. Not much to say, it's probably just really convenient for the authors to use black hair. Although I prefer red hair too like Cale from Trash of the Count's Family
