I don't understand why in ISSTH n AWE n some other CN novels , the characters spit out blood n bite their tongue when they cast spells n get hurt. I mean how much can u bite ur tongue till it cut up like a tomato ??????
Blood is a strong catalyst in magic,at least according to legend, and biting their tongue or thumb to get blood is the fastest to get fresh blood for a spell catalyst
Also when getting hurt, most of the time they take damage to the chest so blood would get in the lungs causing the person to spit it out.
Its a logic similar to the ones used in case of nosebleeds in Japanese novels......They have too much blood!
They're just common expressions in chinese that don't make sense if you don't have the cultural context. Like how 'skeletons in the closet' and 'apple of your eye' are totally nonsensical if you take them literally, but you understand what they actually mean when used.
Mate, pretty much every time i saw someone biting their tongue for some spell, it was some form of blood magic. What do you think blood magic uses? Tip: it's in the name.
They channel energy through their bloodstream, so when they screw it up, the blowback leaves blood in places it shouldn't be, like their lungs. Also, "bite your tongue" means to shut up, if it isn't about actual blood magic (which could be used from a bit lip or finger just as easily), then they are probably biting back the words they were gonna say.
If you have a broken keyboard or are averse to using the fully spelt out word "and" you could always use the & symbol. 3 letters is hard to type I guess.
Um... Magic. I agree, I literally lose brain cells when I have to read trash like this. u = you n = and ur = your/you're Seriously this dude needs to learn to type, you can type that garbage when you're texting your friends but otherwise take the extra 3 seconds and at least pretend like you're a functional member of society.
It is something like blood essence in most CN novels. It gives a short powerup, because it is literally burning/using the essence of your blood - or something like that. In some CN novels it is basically = life force. It is used as a last resort because it will eventually hurt you in the long run if you overuse it.
their are different type of bloods. normal blood can heal fast but vitality blood need time to replenish itself. (when they bite their tongue or hit their stomach and spit out blood, they are usually shortening their lifespan in order to make ability stronger) which is why it is mainly done to escape or do something faster/stronger
I know. He asked, “ mean how much can u bite ur tongue till it cut up like a tomato?” That’s why I said “The Tongue” Can heal within minutes. I wasn’t talking about thei Vitality.
