@Ai chan So we talking about 1. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3257506/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 or 2. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1213644/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Both have horrible ratings btw, sounds like the dance didn't save either of em.
why the hell should i care about them or anyone are they saying they can make a better one ? who are they? can they even do anything ? scums i know everyone has their own view and they have things they like and they have things they dislike but someone who worked hard to do something to look down on some one's hard work this is only done by scums so the hell with those critics anyone who doesnt do anything and even look down on others work i say chop them to pieces
The 'comedy' if you can call it that, has to do with context. Step Up on it's own is already a ridiculous concept, as people having 'dance battles' is already ridiculous especially when there is any kind of meaningful repercussions to said 'battles'. The satire comes from taking this already ridiculous form of battle and putting it in a situation where actual fighting is necessary. That's about the extent of the joke, and you deserved every minute of it for subjecting yourself to the cancer that is The Spartans and Disaster Movie. If we're talking true movie cancer, at least Step Up broke 10% on RT. Disaster Movie and The Spartans got 1% and 2% respectively. Step Up makes about as much sense as High School Musical. Which is none. Both of those are just there to illustrate how stupid attractive people can act and get away with it in the eyes of society. I like South Park's exploration of this phenomena in their High School Musical episode. That said, for some reason dancing is becoming a popular thing and I guess that's where Step Up's popularity comes from, it got them a couple movies so someone must be watching that garbage.
In stressful antagonistic times, one of the most common stress relievers is copulation. However, with the limited pool of possible mates, the male must try to win the female's favor by engaging in a sophisticated mating dance. It is only through sheer disregard to situational circumstances can the male have any chance at impressing the female. Some species provide gifts to demonstrate capability to support offspring, while others make great show of colors to show healthiness. The more fruits consumed (fruitier) the organism is, the brighter the colors show. Wait, I was thinking of spiders and lizards. I don't know why people would do that.
I dunno I thought the very first one was pretty good. Good choreography, romance wasn't too bad, just a chill watch. I haven't seen the rest since they were an obvious attempt at cashing in.
The first one was pretty good in the sense that there wasn't forty or so different movies about dancing at the time so it was a pretty interesting movie, now the ideas old and boring...
When it cames to on ratings on rotten tomatoes, I don't trust the score. When you have a score that is affected by a aggregate, it allows bias agenda critics to affect the score. Take a look at the new ghostbusters movie the score is 78%, while audience is 55%. The only reason the metacritic score is that high, is that there was a campaign to call anyone who said anything bad a 'sexist'.
The plot of both step up movies I watched were pretty simple so I can't say they were good movies. But watching people battle with dancing and the cool moves they used was very interesting to me.
Well the first problem with rotten tomatoes is that reviews are are separately "weighted" according to the opinions of whoever runs the website then the overall score is calculated according to an algorithm rather than just being an average.
