i did read first volume and part of the second volume and i cant understand why a lot of people prising that novel so much ! maybe i dont reach point where that novel become more interesting or something ? i dont know , but damm i don reale see that novel as something like a masterpiece . P.s i am reading LN , not WN
glad you understand, can't wait for you to finish it and review it but if you are reading and understand its appeal why make this thread at all?
Me too. I tried reading it but could not bring myself to like it. The mc was a bit too weak for me. Kinda like LMS.
Sevens is known as one of the best comedies. I particularly like Lyle's level ups. I heard that the final arc when Lyle Spoiler declares war against his sister has very good action, but have not read that part myself.
Read the web novel. You might get to the good parts faster. The story is very misleading. Things are not what they seem. I dropped it near the end myself because I felt that it ended already for me and it got a bit disturbing. Personally, I would rate this R, it is a lot darker than it appears. A bit like Death Note, although more psychologically disturbing instead of graphic violence. Peace!
Popular doesn't mean high quality. Look at those generic isekai or cultivation novels, they are a lot more popular than the truly good novels yet their writing quality pales in comparison to Grandmaster Strategist, Reverend Insanity, The Girl Who Ate A Death God, etc.
Thing is people, for some reason, praise sevens as both high quality and popular. I dont know about the later volumes but I found it to be super meh in the 2-3 volumes I read before my brain just gave up on it.
It's not a masterpiece, and the MC is really pathetic. Maybe it's popular because of "Katekyo Hitman Reborn"-like setting, where his descendants are teaching him. and maybe because of harem? I finished reading the WN. There's big development and I kinda like the ending. It depends on a person whether to finish it or not. The plot is kinda interesting. If you can only tolerate the MC's behavior you will be able to finish this one.
def not high quality. all of the characters that are alive are wooden and have zero personality. the ancestors however, are fantastic but they will slowly die off and it kinda makes you wonder why you're reading it
I just started it a few days ago and by volume 2 I was spent. It's terribly boring as most everything is an overview of events, you don't get into anything. The real nail in the coffin for me, though, was the constant nagging from the ancestors telling him how to live his life. Even if that's the idea behind the story, there are definitely better ways to go about it.
It definitely isnt a masterpiece but i can assure you that the character development is probably one of the best out here in this site. Him being weak and unlikable isnt really a reason that its bad and later you will find out it had a purpose in the story
Haha I lot more negative feedback than I expected. Where are all the defenders? @Parth37955 Fair warning: Most groups here are fan translations, even professional websites make mistakes. A Story can be very different due to a slight mis- translation. When reading Sevens WN, the translator translated high tencho literally as high tension. It means anxiety not that. Simple nuances and tones when they can incorrectly translated will significantly impact how the story is presented to the reader. https://injapan.gaijinpot.com/uncategorized/2013/05/21/high-tension/
well, a lot of people are using what they knew about the WN, to talk about the LN. while the start of both is somewhat dull, it gets better over time as Lyle develops. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece, but I truly enjoyed it. at the very least, it's better than 95% of what is currently being translated.
