It hasnt bothered me much as i dont use that many addons. i easily found replacement ad blockers to replace the ones i used (they work even better than the old) but the one thing that did annoy me a bit was i had to wait for the re-coded version of the video download i use to be released. that made DLing anime a pain in the rear for a little while.

The NICE thing about Firefox in the phone, you can use your desktop extensions on it. I have had almost no issues with using FF, and having ublock origin installed. As that has prevented SO many of the ads (and ads are such memory hogs).

I use modifiers like Remove It Permanently, which works great for eliminating those irritating popups or active banners, or other inbuilt annoyances. Plus, I lose my CSS inline cleaners/editors that prevent pretty much all anti-adblock tricks and most exploitive ads. Including my danboru and webcomic reader xpath replacements. . . . the list goes on. : ( 45 addons right now, and about a third - virtually all of my security, adblocking/non-tracking, privacy, and inline cleaners are in that list, which makes me wonder just what webextensions was actually aimed at. /paranoia? Is it? .
So for secuity, Firefox is a dead canidis.

    @Jarrow

I dont know if these'd be fine for you but i use:
    AdBlock
    AdBlocker Ultimate
    Adguard Adblocker
    AdBlock Plus
    UBlock Origin

as a combo to block 100% of ads, banners, pop-ups etc.. As for the rest of the ones you use, sorry cant help you there.

What... You use all 5 adblockers? :sweating_profusely: They will only conflict in some way.

Surprisingly, they dont. Never had any issues with them and literal 100% ad, pop-up, banner blockage.

I dont really pay attention that much so i cant say much of firefox's RAM usage is caused by the add-ons but ive never had any issues of really high ram usage when using them.

Chrome uses a lot of ram. Firefox is the best.

In my case, Chrome certainly uses the most RAM. Therefore I usually keep Chrome at only 4 tabs at most, since whenever it reach 10, my computer lagged horribly. It's because Chrone starts a new process with every tab, and each process eats a lot of memory.

As for Firefox, recently they also do parallel processing like Chrome, but at a much lesser scale. They don't start a new process with every tab, which is good, instead, they start a new process when they encounter high memory consumption for one particular process, and they limited the number of processes that can run. So while I don't like the recent Firefox architecture, it's still much better than Chrome in terms of RAM usage.

I can run 160 separate tabs on Firefox. Can't even run 10 tabs on Chrome.

EDIT: Nevermind, as of this edit. They're following Chrome's footprint. Why? Just why, man? Why do you copy a browser with crappy memory management system? Not everyone has octacore. You used to be awesome. I recall at one point having 500 tabs on my crappy old Pentium 2 computer.

I've been using Chrome for a few years now so it has the data about the websites I visited, usernames and shit. So i'm kinda reluctant to switch to another browser.

know that feels man, but using FF Aurora when Electrolysis pops out for the first time.. I can't say i really hate it since i also adopt that electrolysis pretty early..

I had this problem as well so I decided to research into it and found this
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1191898

It tells you how to disable multi-processing and go back to the single processing before the update.
The update assumes you have a computer that can take multiprocessing thus actually making it easier to switch tabs or windows without as much lag. But if your computer can't take that, it creates more problems.

Firefox has always been my favorite browser, so I couldn't just put it down because of a damn update.

Y'all have fun now, hope it helps.

P.S. I did this and It went back to single processing :D

Do you know any way to disable pasting script to browser console in FF?
Whoever came up with the idea need to be burned at stake. - Quoted from Bugzilla directly. (its a joke, fyi)

Thanks, I knew this some months back from Tom's Hardware forum, but I didn't set it because I was afraid it would break my firefox. Since it was posted on mozilla's own support page, I decided to do it.

And behold, you assholes at mozilla! My firefox performance instantly became better! Screw you high end elitists who think you represent the majority of humanity. The majority of the human race still use dual-core, you dumbass bastards! It's like the AAA game companies who cater towards the high end elitists without realizing that their games can't be played by the majority of the human race. That's why you suffer such high overheads, dumbass Ubisoft.

Ai-chan use quad-core though, but the parallel processing still cause performance issues.

Firefox is the heaviest on RAM. Whenever I run it makes my laptop run slower whereas while running chrome, it is quite better. Chrome tabs put less load on RAM.
