After reading the latest chapters, one quote comes to mind.

Chapter 390:

So if the only reason for the divinities of huang quan being defeated has to do with that spear, why don't they just fight with the demons that aren't holding the spear?

Like the spear holders will just die either way, and the other demons have to seemingly stay far away or they'll die as well. So just attack them instead.

So long as they just take out the backup demons then they can't bring the spear forward, and if the spear holder wants to deal with the divinities they'd have to go in the opposite direction instead of advancing forward.

 

Or why anyone couldn't say anything? How hard is it to say "a bunch of remodeled demon lords were sent in with a nasty relic by someone we can't name who then fucked up all the divinities and recruited most of the hells to work with them." I mean really, how hard is it to say that without mentioning names?

 

Because this is a CN novel?

 

They were being cornered, both by the sheer number of demons as well as the Demon Lord with the spear. Otherwise why would such a large number of demons gather around just to become collateral damage every time the spear activates? We don't really know the power level of these Divinities yet, so it might just be that they're weaker than we think they are (remember how in the original timeline, a Divinity was cornered and killed by demons in the final stronghold before the MC even manages to kill the Final Demon Lord?)

Apparently, very hard, since the MC's identity and goals (a human soul that purposefully traveled to Huang Quan) were almost immediately found out despite him killing off the only possible witness that could talk (the Demon Lord)

 

That's true, there seems to be a whole lot of them. So I guess divinities aren't literal gods, maybe they're just cultivators that got to a certain level (ascended) and then they're further split into different cultivation levels?

Still they do seem to be much more powerful than the demons, since why else would the demons need to rely on that spear even when they're outnumbering the demons by countless times?

Is that the same Demon as in the demons currently attacking Huang Quan?


Also, with all this talk about Divinities from Heaven Realm and Asuras, it makes me wonder; are "Divnites" Deva/Sura?

I'm also wondering if it's the same thing as "Celestials" and "Celestial Realm" you might see in some cultivation novels, e.g. The Desolate Era.

Edit: Actually never mind about the divinities being deva/asura, it also said, "Divinities from 4 realms". Honestly I'm really confused as to what a divinity actually is in this novel.

It has to be two different words both translated as demon, right? Or what's going on here?

 

yes, they're 2 different worlds translated as the word "demon". It's actually explained in chapter 390 that the Demon realm is actually the Hungry Ghost realm, but since they're so horrible and cruel, they're being treated the same way as demons

 

So let me get this straight. Huang Quan was originally ruled over by a Devil King who was pretty much minding his own business when the Divinities of another realm decided they wanted to rule Huang Quan. They came and got their asses kicked, they requested help from a bunch of different realms including effing demons(Hungry Ghost realm version at least) and finally beat the Devil King.

Pretty much, except that the Devil King planned to invade the other realms (like what's currently happening on Reality/Earth), which is why he made that staff the demons unsealed.

So it shouldn't come as a surprise that they'd rather get rid of him than to be invaded by a bunch of unkillable (un)dead...

 

Last few chapters have been a real drag.

How does he have soul points left to be standing underwater for hours?

Also no one being upfront about anything is really annoying and just being used to drag simple things out.

 

since the author never gave the specific rate at which his Soul Points decreases, he can stand there for hours or days depending on how the story demands it. Example: 1 point per minute = 1000 minutes since he have at least 1000 points, that's over 16 hours worth of time, and that's not even that unreasonably OP, considering an Ascended realm cultivator usually only have around 300 points.
Soul Points are a valuable resource in normal circumstances, just because he farms and spends them like candy doesn't mean the value and potency decreases.

 

Remember the days back when GQS used to think up these plans to defeat his enemies because they were much stronger than him and that would be the only way he would survive? Fun times!

 

Nani? CN protags have brains, albeit fried? I thought they made plans using their lower half

 

I'm wondering if he'll receive a sword for every 'world arc clear'. Shannu being the 3rd but maybe joining much later as she's a divinity and needs to recouperate(plus he won't merge worlds with hell i guess... Yet...). Earth itself has Impartial Goddess as a potential sword spirit.
Next sword will be in the arrogant young master's dying world?

 

Id bet on it...and the swords will be even more demanding than his harem.
