It can't be the best novel I've ever read, if I have to suffer a good deal to get to the good part.

Yes, I would read a novel that was like that. I know that sometimes its quite important for the prologue to build up the world and establish the setting of the novel. If I know that the novel is super good from all the reviews and recommendations its getting then I would attempt to read through the prologue with all the info dump and slice of life chapters. I might drop it a couple times but I would always end up coming back to it.

Depends on if you mean hypothetically knowing 100% that it will be good(which is impossible) or just that the story is hyped to heavens by other readers.
If it is the former then I would probably read it(but again knowing for sure is impossible), if it is the latter then probably not unless it happen to be an interesting infodump for me personally.

It's like waiting for the 100+ chapters of Overgeared.
But mostly because the release rate is High. I will be honest, no matter how good a novel is later on and the beginning is sh*t, I will only keep on reading it if it's meet the following requirement:
    1. Much at least release 1 chapter everyday
    2. You can really see the change that the Author promise when you reach the point that the Author/Translator promise to be good
At least this requirement, cause if the release rate is like 1 per week or the changes aren't that obvious, then I would really just drop it.

I was amazed that there were such novel in real life.:blobunsure:
Anyway, this is the hypothetical novel so Logic doesn't apply here because it would be impossible to have the best novel and such .:blobpats:

And I edit the thread so that the novel is completely translated so no cliff hanger!:blobhighfive:

If you need 100 plus chapter just for prologue the that novel is shit already. Good novel can slowly add ground work and interesting plot from the beginning. If he can do those 100+ chapter onward perfectly then why cant he do the same for 1st 100?

Well, this premise is a bit weird to me.

Like... 100 chapters of Slice of Life and Info Dump? Sure, I would happily read that, it's world-building with the thing I love the most. (Slice of Life)

Then, the 900+ chapters later would be pretty nice~

Now, if you had removed the info dump/slice of life part and simply said... First 100 chapters are super boring, but the later 900 chapters are the best thing ever, then no way I would read it.

I can't stomach 100 boring chapters to read something good... But 100 nice chapters for something great? I'd read that!

Ye , why not ? I can read 100 chapters in less than a day so it wouldn't be a problem . Also better reading a novel that will be good than one that's good and then just becomes bad.
