Even tho they do nice things like translating, they are at the same time a greedy money grabber, some might disagree with me, but this is after all my opinion.
The website itself is a cesspit of pure ads, ads and more malicious ads. Within just five minutes of being on of the chapters they've translated, my ad-blocker blocked up to at least 800 things, WITHIN five minutes. while if you remove ad-blocker, then its nearly impossible to read ANYTHING, since nearly every part of their page is filled with ads, even the spaces between the lines of the dialogue there are ads.
It's become to much, this is no longer just "ads" to just help them get revenue to further translate, this is a pure and simple fucking plague of death, to make matters worse, instead of releasing a single chapter as that, a single chapter, they cut 1 chapter into multiple parts to make more money on the revenue by clicks and visits.
Instead of them saying something simple like chapter 13 part 1, chapter 13 part 2 and so on, they release them as separate chapters, that being chapter 13 part 2 becomes chapter 14 instead, which really screws with the reading list here on NU, due to a novel might have a total of 750 chapters, but instead you see Asianhobbyist have translated double that (1400) due to them making them into parts, sometimes its even worse with one chapter having 3 parts.

I ask this community if there is something to done, since this is in my opinion being abusive of the system to maliciously have ads that could in reality and theory infect our computers, laptops, mobiles etc. with harmful viruses.

Can't block 13 pages of a single chapter though. :blob_coffee:

    (exaggeration intended)

I use Adblock plus, might not be the best, but honestly, not sure at times which adblock is better than others and whatnot.

If you use Firefox, highly suggest uBlock Origin too. Less websites flag it as an adblock. Say a certain website blocks itself and tell you to stop your adblock, uBlock makes it as if the website never sees an adblock.

I'm a former user of ABP myself. Some sites notice it and tells me to unblock their sites.

Site doesn't even work for me anymore with all these webpage blocker ads.

Just get caught in a constant loop of refreshing like some shitty virus-laden late 90's site. Nothing works.

The goddamn hassle to read something is unreal.

I use both ABP and Ublock origin among the other 5 lol...they bound to block something the other missed, tbh I don't mind ads as long as it's not the redirect, popups, or blocks half or more of the page kind, the most tolerable ads are probably the ones that just sit at the side or top or bottom of the page...sometimes one that sits inside the text every 5 or so paragraphs are tolerable as well, but most websites always have the most annoying kinds instead of those simple ones that just sit on the page.

I'll whitelist a webpage as long as they don't have the super annoying ads as mentioned above...but i think sometimes the web owners sometimes don't check the page and end up losing control of what ads get on their page somehow, I think some like wuxiaworld had that problem a while back...so maybe it should be reported to them because maybe they don't know.

I just use the Brave browser since it runs on the same engine as chrome so it feels basically the same (and I can import bookmarks and logins from chrome) but it has also got a built in ad blocker.

But I mainly use it because I'm from a country where any and all porn sites are blocked. Brave browser has a built in Tor version that you can open just by pressing alt+shift+n. It was too much of a hassle to turn on a VPN or open another browser each time I wanted to watch porn so I just use this browser instead. Its convenient to do illegal stuff!
