    Oh... lemme try to make you watch it again with some spoilers
    one important character in the anime has the ability to turn back time, though the price of doing so is pretty big. This ability gets used and the sister gets saved. And don't worry and think that the anime will ruin itself by saving everyone and destroying the emotional build up. There are painful moments.
