Wtf is up with Martial World?

So I've been reading both Translation Nation( Stellar Transformation) and Daoseekerblog's announcements about Martial World and my only reaction is WTF. If there is a current translation of the novel and it hasn't been dropped by the current translator or been on hiatus for 3 months at the very least, how is it OK for another translator to just swoop in and pretty much demand to take over that novel? If daoseeker is not OK with working together on the novel, that doesn't give TN any right to harass them. If ST is going to conclude in a few months, find something else. I'm pretty sure that there are loads of novels that haven't been translated yet.

Harassing and forcing one translator to stop because you want to take over is just wrong. Is there anyway to set up some sort of arbitration process for this? Readers are going to be affected by this crap and it's ridiculous that translators are bickering over something that one of them have instigated. Not done TN. Just Not f-ing done.

 

I'm guessing they just wanted to have a novel to do for another while after ST is done. But still there isn't any justification for them to do that.

 

I get that they want another novel, however the method of trying to get one is just not OK. There are plenty of novels waiting to be picked up. Being a douche and taking over one that has a perfectly good translator is just a morally reprehensible act.

They shouldn't be forcing translators to stop translating...
What they're doing makes no sense, they should finish translating first before they try to steal whatever 'translation' from someone else.

 

Haven't been over to dao's site so i dunno about any harrasing, but from what I read from TN's side they've already TLed a bunch of chappys to release when dao announced and released the first few chappys. Can't blame them for pursuing the matter in this case, they pretty much had all their efforts and plans dumped down the trash when dao took over the project.

Yes, I know they didn't announce they were translating the story, but they were quite clearly preparing for a big release and i doubt anyone would be willing to give up all that effort without making attempts to have some meaning to their efforts, aka the so called harrasement.

 

Daoseekerblog can't do anything about it though. It's the readers who read & donate.

Well Daoseekerblog have already released 8 chapters and Translation Nation 0.

 

I get your point although I do find the ridiculousness of not announcing it and then harassing a translator who had no clue to be quite apparent. Yes it sucks that your effort went down the drain, but YOU SHOULD HAVE ANNOUNCED IT.

 

Yes TN haven't released any but they were reaching out to dao to ask if he'd be willing to work together.

Their way of doing things is freaking shitty. They're months away from completing their previous project and want to forbid another translator to translate a project they have their eyes on. What the fuck is this? Are they trying to enact the xanxia cliché of powerful and arrogant clans and sects acting as if whatever treasure they lay their eyes upon belong to them? Fuck me.

Heads up for you, I ain't a member of TN, just a reader. As neither of us are TN or Dao, we really don't know what really happened so why don't you cool your head down eh? What dao says is harassment might just be TN trying their best to get him to work together, similarly their attempts might have gone over the line. But neither of us know so really, simmer down.

Yea, both sides is hearsay, unless we're in close contact and can read the messages between TN and dao we really can't judge.

 

This is why I stopped reading ST like a year ago. Guess I'm not reading Martial World either.

The story is good! There's still no reason to not read it just because of the translator.
