    Big news today as CRANE STARTLES KUNLUN finishes! This is the first novel in the Crane-Iron pentalogy, the series Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is in. This is a classic series and the tl of this first novel has been ongoing for a decade. Translator is a good guy and a good translator, and this is classic wuxia.     This novel was before Jin Yong and Gu Long and it's a good look at the style of wuxia at the time (1930s-1940s).

    Nice. Can someone post some links to other classic wuxia translations too?
    I've only read the first 2 books of the Xiaoli Feidao series.

    Interesting stuff. One of these days I'll have to get around to reading pre-modern wuxia. By reputation, it's not as good as the material by Jin Yong, Gu Long, and Liang Yusheng, but I wonder how well it holds up and how different it is.

    I actually thought this was related to WoC, just by seeing 'classic crane' (interpreted as Silly Bird) and 'Kunlun' (as it was), because i'm tired right now so my brain isn't at 100%.
