You're not. They care about their face, which is why they'd try to kill you off if you prove them to be lying.
In all honesty: How often do they ask to be given face, when they're in the wrong vs when they are not?

 

That cancer shit will destroy the community. There's a reason why the manga community is ruined. There were originally fan translation sites like onemanga that were compliant with Japanese publisher companies. The fucking retarded Japanese companies filed DMCA, so onemanga had to shut down, only giving rise to translation-stealing cancerous websites like mangahere and mangareader that just straight up rip translations from independent translators.

 

Exactly the same thing you said, the fear of a paywall, I was actually called out enormously for it.

 

I haven't read a lot of stuff on Qidian international anyway so I might as well stop now if they will put paywall later. A long time leecher like me has a phobia for anything to do with payment. At least there's no one who going to license Japanese web novel... hopefully I didn't Jinx anything.

Dear @Qidian if you guys do end up installing a paywall instead of a donation+ad revenue system then i believe most of us (if not all ) would have to stop reading chinese WN altogether(or read maybe read MTL) which would be bad for business. So i(and probably everyone) would really appreciate that you in the future dont install a paywall ootherwise there might be problems between ya all and we at the community.

I was going to read today's chapters of Forty Millenniums of Cultivation and MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary Guardian when I noticed this post.

Now, just thinking about reading on Qidian takes away all the pleasure I would have felt reading these two novels. I guess I'll stop following them.

While i'm not siding with any parties, i still wish that the novels are readable and free in English translation. There are too many interesting novels to read and when it will be costly to read, i will have to stop to read and it will surely make my heart hurts. Not everyone affords to pay and that's why the kind translators translate for free to share their hobby.
