For every xanxia I've read, the story is about some legendary item or technique that makes the MC OP, and, in addition, it is always something that strays from the path of ordinary cultivation. The only novel I can think of that actually gets into the details of cultivation (besides, say qi condensation, forming a jindan, and that kind of thing) is Coiling Dragon with enlightenment towards the elements. And obviously Coiling Dragon isn't a xianxia. Anyways,I are there any translated novels that are actually about the Dao?
classical xianxia is all about the dao. One Sword to Immortality (Yi Jian Fei Xian) I Shall Seal the Heavens Shrouded (Shrouded Sky, Shrouding the Heavens) Desolate Era Those are the ones currently being translaterd
ISSTH is the only one I can say has a bunch of stuff about the dao. Though I haven't read a ton of CN novels so I'm sure there are more. Classical xianxa should have stuff on the dao. Also, My Daoist Life, from what I've heard (haven't read it yet) has a bunch of stuff on the dao.
I'd second ISSTH and My Daoist Life. Though you should be aware that with MDL, its not really a typical xianxia. Its more similar to Lemeny Snicket or Harry Potter or something of that nature, but it still takes the Daoist aspects of its story more seriously than most of these OP wet-dreams with generic Marty Stu number seven MC's that flood the genre.
there are dao of formation like ji nings uncle white,or dao of element, but dao of business planning actually one of grand dao you know..only a chosen one can cultivate it,ex meng hao in his early days, our dear zuombie, and weed on royal road
