Discussion Xianxia vs Game elements

I think those 2 are the most popular. so which is better. Xianxia is probably the most popular because of its amazing release schedule. So this is purely about content.

 

Why not both?

I feel that the power levels in a game elements is more clear than in xinxia's. Though theyre mostly the same.I feel that in xinxia, between when the MC is at the lower layer of power levels and when he is at 3-4 realms higher level, it doesnt feel that there is any difference in power, except for its name and their number of skills that can be used.. atleast game elements have flashy world wide spells and numbers attached to its players.

In game element type stuff, you have a OP protag with a harem. In xianxia, most of them have a OP protag with a harem too. Difference, xianxia protags know how to treat their harems.

I would always go for xianxia. the concepts of cultivation and such really draw me in. i wonder where the stuff like cultivation, profound techniques and stuff originated from?

 

No such thing as better or worse. Depends on how the author writes the story.

 

Generally, xianxia's are better I guess. King's Avatar is great, but most of the VRMMO are really unbalanced and unrealistic (eg: Zhan Long)

 

If this is novel recommending, Xianxia does have its more frequent update. For stories with game elements, they tend to focus on skills, levels, adventure; killing a beast gives XP (with Xianxia the most you get is a core to help with cultivation, even that depends on the grade )

With Xianxia (depending on the story) on later chapters they don't focus on cultivation process as much (broke through a rank is just highlighted in a sentence). Action is a guarantee in Xianxia. As well as douche-y antagonists (who make small appearances).

 

Think there is a bigger amount xianxia(Xx) novels but i find certain aspects of the most common story pattern very annoying.
Game elements(GE) stories are to me more appealing but generally the authors are less polished and fewer leading me to read rather dubious material that in other genre's id consider crap but without anything better to be found its the best available.
So in practice there are better Xx authors then there are GE authors so ive read better Xx's then ive read GE novels

Even so i have hope for the future ill keep an eye on GE stories in hope it attracts skilled authors.

 

I think as s writer, it's best to have your setting bible in game elements so you have a strong consistent numerical foundation, as a reader xian xia is a bit more exciting.

So personally I think its best for the game elements to be hidden underneath the descriptions so the writer knows the numbers but the reader sees the results

game elements doesnt only includes those though. There's some that is reincarnated to the game world. Like overlord, or the ember sword. God and devil world game elements is also kinda good before the racist/sexist remark kill the novel. Or maybe.. terror infinity.?

There are those that I like at the same category and those that I dont...

 

The best game element are on royalroad. Most novels need shomthing orgininal to be whortwhile. Like re:monster with there GE style of evelotuion. Or "the demonic king chases the good for nothing miss" which has all the xianxia elements but the mc is female and has a OP stalker. GE tends to be more orginal. Whilest novels like "ze tian ji" have very yood authers. Xianxia doenst follow the shalllow archtype templates that japanse hero-demon king stories tend to have.
