It's probably because BL writing is a lot better than most online novels and therefore get more people translating/reading it.

Unlike those disgusting hetero-couple pairings that pop up like weeds. Seriously, these breeders have to stop it with their disgusting hetero-smut.

Best solution is, just ignore yaoi. *smh* these people ah. Yaoi is not even doing anything bad to you guys. If you don't like, don't read. That's that. Like for example, I don't like harem, I don't read them. I avoid them like a plague. No need to criticize yaoi.
