So, imagine you are stuck in a room, with nothing around you, except a computer. The computer has no power, yet turns on, and has no internet, but if you open internet explorer, the first chapter of an asian novel you feel will be to your taste (let’s assume something like RTW, because so many people like that) but never got to reading, is open. After reading the first chapter, you are hooked into the story, when a message appears “You will not be able to exit this room until you read through all 2396 chapters of this novel. You will be immortal within the room, without need for sleep, eating, drinking and am impervious to any form of harm. Would you like to read every chapter available in MTL (keeping in mind that the wording in its original language is virtually untrancelatble with machine translate) Or wait to read one chapter every week with nothing to do in the meantime? (Am unable to stockpile chapters)” What would you choose?
well first of all reading one chapter a week of 2396 chapters would take 45.95 years, so yeah I think I'd go with mtl. I mean, if I could do other things sure, but literally the only thing available I CAN do is read the mtl.
hahaha i choose MTL of course and maybe i correct the shit of that grammar myself or just make a very different sentences with passable meaning of the plot story, sorry for grammar though
Uh...so what do translators get? A screen full of broken Chinese and gibberish text that we have to run through Base64 to decode and retranslate---?! 0 u 0
Voted for waiting before reading the post. Honestly I think reading 2400 chapters of MTL is less torture than waiting 168 hours between chapters. That's 167 hours 45 minutes of nothing in between each chapter. 401,929 hours 16,747 days 2392 weeks 46 years 46 years to read the novel. And someone else did the math before me. You could still take 46 years to read the MTL if you wanted to. It doesn't say that you have to spend every second at the computer.
If the computer has no power how can you click the next chapter button? And if you could Mtl, doesn't that mean you have access to google translate or some other site? Since theres nothing else to do, i'll probably Mtl and try learning the language off of it, so i could read the raw, as if you Mtl you probably have the raw right there
You only need to "read", right? It wasn't specified that you need to have a comprehension of the story. Just get out of the room . . . so you can access the internet again.
Is this based off of Can’t Leave This Room Until I Get First Place on Syosetu? I'd just not read the novel at all; it'd be great being immortal~
I may or may not chose a chapter a week. In my waiting time I would work out. It says I'm immortal no need for eating or sleeping. But it doesn't say I can't improve my body. So after 46 years of working out. I'd walk out there with my 20 years + 46 years worth of exercise crammed into my 20 year old body. When I get out I'm super human. Or well super fit. Either way I'm happy.
As Daoist of Patience I will be patient and wait for each chapter to be released. During these time of waiting, since I am invulnerable to everything I will use these time to cultivate and attempt to sense Qi and become cultivator. What is 45 years when you're immortal. I also have my mind to keep me entertained.
Exactly, Imagine how physically fit you could get. The fact that you could learn the other language. There are so many possibilities
