They remove all the hyperlinks, author notes sometimes, translator notes, explanations. And don't worry, you don't wanna go there, its an ad-fest
they didnt ask but apparently they were kind enough to link to my wordpress page.... so i do get some traffic from them... though i am disappointed that they erase my random ramblings.... and when i screw up and put the wrong chapter numbers on the posts their site's chapter order gets screwed over.
Some translators have gotten licenses to translate so they would be able to purse some legal action but it depends on the country they are in and the country the host is in and the person who stole the work and their host.
Thats a agood idea... Post chapter incorrectly... Wait for them to take the bait and post it incorrectly too then correct it on ur side. Muahahahaha
I use the reader mode on firefox to eliminate all the distracting fluff people put on their websites while I want to focus on reading a novel. Watermarks are extremely aggravating to me when they show up in the text and I inevitably stop reading after a few chapters of it. *EDIT* I also use the reader mode when I read novels on my iPhone.
Yeah, I'm really sad they took off my rambling too XD. My translations on their page is really hard to read because I have the text all centered and not shifted to the left ahaha.
the next link won't work...they actually go through a lot of trouble just to copy and paste. They edit out a lot of things too T.T
My notes are in parenthesis in blue colour... their site is all b/w so it gets mixed in with the original author's normal parenthesis.... and the extra info becomes confusing to some extent.... my main issue is i dont get to read reader comments when its on their site...... I like reader's conspiracy theories and silly comments as well as the thank yous that regularly appear tis a bad idea cuz it also shoes up on NU as the wrong chapter and you'd need to report it for it to be fixed.... its more work for the mods who i think wont appreciate it. edits: also it seems the other group taking the translation took the translation from the other group taking translations... so both sites have the wrongly labeled chapter order.....
Have you seen systrans free online translation? It is an osm mtl software website. They use banners to show translation which can not be copied by scripts made by rookies.
I think I found the voldemort site, but it doesn't seem to be any better than NU? and there are advert popups. Why would someone use it over NU?
It is very complicated to do that (criii) very very true, so no legal action can be taken anyway. It's easiest to steal from a thief because they can't report it. That's why I've decided to email the authors personally before starting a project. So far, no success. I made my watermarks the same colour as the background ; ) But wow lots of people use their phones!
Most likely because they don't know about NU.. they are being taken advantage of~ or maybe they don't like visiting the translator blogs and prefer the standard b/w text and font
If you want, you can put a hit counter on your site and you can find out how many people use their mobile devices to read. I recommend http://www.supercounters.com/
