Yeah, I use the flag counter cause I wanted to see where everyone was from. but you can basically see how people got to your site and which systems they use. Edit: you just have to click on the counter once you put it on your site and it will open to another page with lots of cool info.
Lol I got summoned here. Well this is what I'm using for the past 3 months and none of it are stolen for now. Just try copying my releases on nepustation.com
Yeah same problem with my translation group. We pretty much warned the guys and warned our readers just to be on the lookout and not to support them. What really irks me is why they think that simply linking back to our page suffices. I think though, I'd still say no even if they asked. Hosting entirely or promoting are another thing, but what's the point in having two sites with exactly the same stuff albeit one releasing later and not helping out the original translator. Sorry for the mini-rant.
You don’t need permission to translate. And, technically, you own the rights to your translations by default. But if you don’t have the rights the work itself, you’re breaking the law by distributing it (whether you profit or not). So if anyone does steal your translation, you risk getting yourself into trouble if you try to go through official channels to get it taken down. About the only scenario that might make it worth it is if a company that did get the rights started selling your translation without your permission.
The reader mode strips out text formatting. The color of the text, its background, and its size is determined by the reader mode rather than the website. Obviously, your "invisible writing" suddenly becomes very visible. I like reader mode, because I can whitelist a page on my adblock if I want to, but not be barraged by blinking banner ads and animations while I try to overcome my adhd and focus on what I'm reading. Translator gets some money, I get a positive reading experience. Actually I like it to the point that I use it even if I don't whitelist a site. Plus if I really cared about people getting money from me viewing their ads, I couldn't have a hosts file since that doesn't have a whitelist to discriminate.
Still... The translators do hard works to get the works translated right. They deserve appreciation too aside from the author. What will became of NU without them? Hard workers always deserve what they deserve to get. Readers supports. *Sorry for the inconvenience
Please don't. The harder it is to access the chapter, the more likely people will use aggregator. Heck, the reason I didn't read manga straight from translator site is because it's hard to have several site to read from.
I purposefully forget the name. The name isn't important. The site we are referring to: Has no translators Earns money Hosts other translators work without permission Gives everyone a bad name
Not to mention that there are now three of those, and one of them is stealing from the first one, the irony.
Yes. One one of the new aggregator rips from the first thief, and the second one only has a few titles on them as they manually steal them.
OH WOW!!! Thank you so so much, this method is ingenious! I have to rewatch again to understand it better. I hope those programmes run on mac computers t-t And I also have to change to wordpress since wix doesn't support custom fonts in my country
So the reader mode was capable of that :0 I've learnt something new! Gm Rusaku's method...I really have to study it well (ノ>。<)ノ
I applied my method after Cheat majutsu's Ch.17 was copied and from then on, nothing was copied. and all the new aggregators only have until Ch.17 as that's the last one RLN had ever copied from me (all there copies came from RLN).
glad it's working you guys got it tough enough as it is~ and its free~ so I as a humble leecher congratz thee~
It just increases the effort for aggregators by a minute amount. It would take only about 5 minutes to figure out and write the code to parse your content to readable English. On the other hand, I'm sure there are other readers like me who use a reader like Pocket or use Firefox' reader view to read and therefore, can't read on your website. Then again, almost anything you use to stop aggregators will affect your readers.
The more threads like these appear, the more I want to make my own aggregator just to piss off these translators who only know how to whine.
